Lesson 1-Technology

• Technical environment has to be reliable– Students and teachers criticise technical problems

in school during the e-learning days. • 1:1-device is desirable, personal notebook• Solution with learning platform and USB stick

is good– 66% of the students asked like the stick and are

happy with the program

Evaluation from studentsI didn‘t like…

Not being together with classmates Too much working individually and not in a group (66% of students predominantly worked by

themselves) Direct help from the teacher is more convenient No concentration at home, too many distractions

Files could not be opened IQon broke down temporarily Too many chat conferences Internet didn’t work

Amount of tasks was too much Tasks were too difficult

Working a long time on the computer

Evaluation from teachers High motivation from students Students helped each other

immensely Increase in school performances Skype group-chat was good fun Timeliness of students in terms

of signing in, sticking to hand in time.

Students found it easier to contact teachers than usually (felt more anonymous)

Different form of communication than normally

Technical problems, especially with IQon

IQon is not a good platform Not all students have access

to the internet or a computer Facebook was distracting

students from their work 3 school subjects were too

much Very time consuming for

teachers (and students) Bad results- copy and paste

What is annoying?

• Confusing and unclear• awkward setup • slow• Mail via Windows Live

What is missing?

• Chat function• Bulletin board (forum)

The communication area should be a fundamental part
