PHYSICAL PROPERTIES PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
CLOSED-CELL STRUCTUREStrong system integrity: Non-connecting cell structure that inherently resists mold and bacterial
growth + low water vapor diffusion ensures long-term low thermal conductivity without the use
of protective coatings/jacketing on indoor applications. Open cell products require a jacket that,
if punctured, could cause the insulation system to fail.
RESISTANT TO WATER VAPOR TRANSMISSION (wvt)Water vapor transmission rate refers to the steady water vapor flow through the area of a body. Materials with a wvt of 0.10 perm-in
or less are considered to be moisture vapor retarders as defined by ASHRAE and ASTM. K-FLEX USA elastomeric products achieve a wvt
value of 0.03 perm-in without the addition of a jacket.
NON-TOXICK-FLEX USA uses RoHS-compliant ingredients, including an EPA-approved antimicrobial agent, and state-of-the-art production processes. K-FLEX
USA products are GREENGUARD-certified as low VOC materials, meeting the requirements of the Children & Schools and Indoor Air Quality clas-
sifications. The fiber-free formulation ensures that no particles or contaminants are released into the operating environment during installation
or operation.
FLAMMABILITYK-FLEX USA standard insulation products are 25/50-rated up to 2 thickness for flame spread / smoke development when tested to ASTM E 84 stan-
dards, Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials.
FLEXIBILITYK-FLEX USA elastomeric insulation is flexible, even at low temperatures, resulting in time and cost savings during installation, restoration
and maintenance work.
TEMPERATURE RANGEK-FLEX USA products are suitable for a wide temperature range: -297F to +220F (+300F for K-FLEX ECO ).
THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY (k-value)Thermal conductivity is a measurement of the ability of a material to transmit heat, specifically the measure of heat in Btus that passthrough one square foot of a homogenous substance, 1 inch thick, in 1 hour, for each degree Farenheit temperature difference. K-FLEX USA
standard insulation has a k-value of 0.245 at 75F, making it an excellent insulator.

INSUL-TUBE
DESCRIPTIONINSUL-TUBEpipe insulation is an environmen-
tally-friendly, CFC-free, flexible elastomeric ther-
mal insulation. It is black in color and is avail-
able in unslit tubular form in wall thicknesses of
3/8,1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 or 2 in sizes
ranging from 3/8 I.D. to 8 IPS. (Available in 6
lengths and coils). INSUL-TUBEkey physical
properties are approved through supervision by
Factory Mutual Research Corporation.
INSUL-TUBE is non-porous, fiber-free and
resists mold growth. An EPA-registered antimi-
crobial agent is incorporated into the product
providing additional protection against mold,
fungal and bacterial growth.
INSUL-TUBEis GREENGUARDcertified as a
low VOC material, meeting the requirements of
the Children & Schools and Indoor Air Qual-
ity classifications.
APPLICATIONSINSUL-TUBEis used to retard heat gain andprevent condensation or frost formation on
refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and
chilled water systems. It also retards heat flow
for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual
temperature piping, and many solar systems.
INSUL-TUBEis designed for the HVAC and
Refrigeration industry.
INSUL-TUBEis recommended for applica-
tions ranging from -297F to 220F (-182C
to 104C). The expanded closed-cell structure
makes INSUL-TUBEan efficient insulator andprovides effective moisture vapor resistance.
INSUL-TUBEcan be used with heat tracing/heat
tapes.
INSUL-TUBEhas a tough skin that withstands
tearing, rough handling, and severe environmen-
tal conditions, yet is flexible for easy installa-
tion. INSUL-TUBEhas superior cold weather
flexibility.
INSTALLATIONWith a factory-applied coating of talc on the
smooth inner surface, INSUL-TUBEslides easily
over pipe or tubing for quick installation. When
applied to existing lines, tubing is slit lengthwise
and fitted into place. (Slitting can be done on the
job with a sharp knife or pre-slit INSUL-TUBE
is available on request). All seams and butt
joints should be sealed with an approved contact
adhesive, making sure both surfaces to be joined
are coated with adhesive. Fittings are fabricatedfrom miter-cut tubular sections, and cover,
flanges, etc., from INSUL-SHEET. K-FITfactory
fabricated fittings are also available. ASTM
C1710, Installation Guide for Flexible Closed Cell
Foams, should be used as an installation guide.
OUTDOOR APPLICATIONSINSUL-TUBEis made from a UV-resistant elas-
tomeric blend. For moderate UV exposure (resi-
dential applications), no additional protection is
needed. For severe UV exposure (rooftop applica-
tions) or for optimum performance, K-FLEX
374Protective Coating, approved jacketing or K-FLEX
CLADis required.
UNDERGROUNDFor buried lines above the water table, use a
clean fill such as sand (3-5 layer) to protect
INSUL-TUBEbefore backfilling. It is recom-
mended that materials to be buried are properly
sealed at all seams and butt joints with an ap-
proved contact adhesive. For optimum perform-
ance, the lines should be encased in a conduit
to protect them from problems associated with
ground water intrusion and compaction.
RESISTANCE TO MOISTUREVAPOR FLOWThe closed-cell structure and unique
formulation of INSUL-TUBEeffectively retards
the flow of moisture vapor, and is considered
a low transmittance vapor retarder. For most
indoor applications, INSUL-TUBEneeds no
additional protection. Additional vapor barrie
protection may be necessary for INSUL-TUBE
when installed on low temperature surfaces
are exposed to continuous high humidity.

Contains a Protective
Antimicrobial Agent
DESCRIPTIONINSUL-LOCKWHITE is an environmentally-
friendly, CFC-free, flexible elastomeric thermal
insulation. It is pre-slit with a factory-applied
pressure sensitive adhesive applied to both
seam surfaces. It is white in color, designed
for use where piping will be painted or left
exposed, and is available in 1/2 and 1 wall
thickness and in sizes ranging from 1/2 to
3-1/8 ID. INSUL-LOCK
WHITE key physicalproperties are approved through supervision by
Factory Mutual Research Corporation.
INSUL-LOCKWHITE is non-porous, fiber-free
and resists mold growth. An EPA-registered
antimicrobial agent is incorporated into the
product providing additional protection against
mold, fungal and bacterial growth. INSUL-
LOCKWHITE is GREENGUARDcertified as low
a VOC material, meeting the requirements of
the Children & Schools and Indoor Air Qual-
ity classifications.
APPLICATIONSINSUL-LOCKWHITE is used to retard heat flow
and prevent condensation for hot/cold water
plumbing lines. INSUL-LOCKWHITE is recom-
mended for applications ranging from -70F to
200F (-56C to 93C) for both new and exist-
ing applications and can be used with heat
tracing/heat tapes. For best results, store and
install INSUL-LOCKWHITE at temperatures
between 40F and 100F.
INSTALLATIONINSUL-LOCKWHITE is designed for quick andeasy installation: slip on the tube, pull built-in
release liners, pinch tube shut and apply
pressure at the seams. The seam should be
positioned on be on the bottom of the pipe. For
best results, peel release liner from both ends,
working towards the center to ensure even
seams at the butt joints. For hot applications
(45F and above), butt seams can be sealed
with an approved contact adhesive or tape
(non-condensation applications).
Fittings are fabricated from miter-cut tubular
sections of INSUL-TUBEWHITE. K-FITfactory
fabricated fittings are also available.
INSUL-LOCKWHITEs closure system isdesigned to save labor costs, particularly
on straight runs and retrofit applications. It
greatly reduces the use of contact adhesives,
allowing for improved working conditions and
compliance with OSHA requirements.
OUTDOOR APPLICATIONSINSUL-LOCKWHITE is made from a UV-
resistant elastomeric blend. For moderate
UV exposure (residential applications), no
additional protection is needed. For severe UV
exposure (rooftop applications) or for optimum
performance, K-FLEX374 Protective Coat-
ing or approved jacketing is required. Similar
to indoor applications, the seam should be
positioned on the bottom of the pipe.
FEATURES & BENEFITS Faster installation
Easier handling (3-foot lengths)
Ideal for straight runs
Less use of contact adhesives
These advantages are particularly evident when
working from ladders, lifts or scaffolding.
RESISTANCE TO MOISTUREVAPOR FLOWThe closed-cell structure and unique formula-
tion of INSUL-LOCKWHITE effectively retards
the flow of moisture vapor, and is considered a
low transmittance vapor retarder.

Antimicrobial Agent
23
DESCRIPTIONINSUL-TUBECoil pipe insulation is environ-
mentally-friendly, CFC-free, flexible elastomeric
thermal insulation. It is available as continu-
ous length, unslit tubing up to 1 thickness in
lengths ranging from 250 to 2800 depending
on ID size and wall thickness. INSUL-TUBE
COIL key physical properties are approved
through supervision by Factory Mutual Research
Corporation.
INSUL-TUBECOIL is non-porous, fiber-free
and resists mold, fungal and bacterial growth.
K-FLEX USA elastomeric insulation products are
GREENGUARDcertified for low VOC content
and meet the requirements of the Children
and Schools classification and Microbial
Resistant listing.
APPLICATIONSINSUL-TUBECOIL is used to prevent conden-
sation or frost formation on line sets or ex-
tended length copper piping for chilled water orrefrigeration systems. It also retards heat flow
for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual
temperature piping, and many solar systems.
INSUL-TUBECOIL is recommended for appli-
cations ranging from -297F to 220F (-182C
to 104C). The expanded closed-cell structure
makes INSUL-TUBECOIL an efficient insulator
and provides effective moisture vapor resist-
ance. INSUL-TUBECOIL can be used with heat
tracing/heat tapes.
INSUL-TUBECOIL is tough enough to with-stand tearing, rough handling, and severe
environmental conditions, but has superior
flexibility for easy installation, including in cold
weather.
INSTALLATIONINSUL-TUBECoils are best applied to straight
runs free of corners and bends. Offered with
or without a factory-applied coating of talc on
the inner surface for effortless sliding, INSUL-
TUBECOIL slides easily over pipe or tubing
for quick installation. All butt joints should be
sealed with K-FLEXContact Adhesive, making
sure both surfaces to be joined are coated with
adhesive.
OUTDOOR APPLICATIONSINSUL-TUBECOIL Pipe Insulation is made
from a UV-resistant elastomeric blend. For
moderate UV exposure (residential applica-
tions), no additional protection is needed. For
severe UV exposure (rooftop applications) or for
optimum performance, K-FLEX 374 Protective
Coating or approved jacketing is required.
UNDERGROUNDFor buried lines above the water table, use a
clean fill such as sand (3-5 layer) to protectINSUL-TUBECOIL before backfilling. It is
recommended that materials to be buried are
properly sealed at all seams and butt joints
with an approved contact adhesive. For opti-
mum performance, the lines should be encased
in a conduit to protect them from problems
associated with ground water and compaction.
RESISTANCE TO MOISTUREVAPOR FLOWThe closed-cell structure and unique
formulation of INSUL-TUBECOIL effectively
retards the flow of moisture vapor, and is con-sidered a low transmittance vapor retarder. For
most indoor applications, INSUL-TUBECOIL
needs no additional protection.
Additional vapor barrier protection may be
necessary for INSUL-TUBECOIL when insta
on low temperature surfaces that are expos
to continuous high humidity.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSK-FLEX120 Contact Adhesive should be
applied at above 40F (4C) temperatures.
Unscrew the cap off of the cartridge, screw onto
the nozzle, and insert into the caulk gun. Be
sure to pierce the membrance at the front of
the tube before applying pressure.
Apply a 1/8 bead of adhesive for 4 O.D. or
less and a 1/4 bead of adhesive for above
4 O.D. along the edge of the product 3/8
from the edge of the overlap. Press evenly on
the caulk gun for the length of the part so the
adhesive is distributed equally. Allowing theadhesive to seep out slightly from the edge of
the overlap is desired to create a good seal.
Using a clean putty knife, scrape off excess
adhesive along the seam.
Wipe off the area with a clean rag and mineral
spirits to finish off the job. Cleanup must be
performed before the adhesive has time to set
up. If all the contents in the tube are not used
simply allow a small amount of caulk to dry
at the tip of the applicator to form a plug and
remove when ready to use again.
K-FLEX USA recommends a minimum of 24
hours of applied pressure on the elbow (us-
ing twine or equivalent) for the adhesive to
have adequate time to set and create a seal.
K-FLEX120 Contact Adhesive cures approxi-
mately 50% within 24 hours and 90% within
48 hours. Optimum strength is achieved in 7
days.
Each tube of K-FLEX120 Contact Adhesive
can seal approximately 50 CLAD
WT Moldedfittings (depending on fitting size and adhesive
application).

and may irritate skin. Overexposure to vapor may irritate
eyes, nose and throat. Avoid eye and skin contact. Use with
adequate ventilation. Do not handle contact lenses with
sealant on hands. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with
water for 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention. In case of
skin contact, remove from skin and flush with water. Keep

K-FLEX420 CONTACT ADHESIVE
Made in US
DESCRIPTIONK-FLEX420 Contact Adhesive is a one-part
solvent-based high performance contact adhesive
that has good resistance to high temperatures
and is ideal for bonding rubber in demanding
heating and refrigeration systems. It is specially
designed for use with K-FLEX CLADIN Jacketing
and K-FLEX ECO insulation.
FEATURESExcellent initial strength
High heat resistance (350F)
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSFor proper adhesion, prepare the surface by
removing all dust, dirt, oil, grease, etc. For best
results, the temperature of the adhesive and sur-
faces should be at least 65F. If stored below 30F,
warm up to room temperature in a warm room only
(do not exceed 120F).
Stir well before using for optimum results. The
adhesive tacks in approximately 5-10 minutes.
High humidity will slow drying times and high
temperatures will speed drying times. The
adhesive has a bonding range of approximately
30 minutes when applied to both bond surfaces
under conditions of 70F and 35% R.H.
To bond, apply a thin coat on the two surfaces
to be joined, allow to become slightly tacky,
and bond by applying strong, even pressure.
If the adhesive becomes too dry, apply another
thin coat of adhesive to one surface, allow to
become slightly tacky, and bond.
Relative humidity above 50% can cause
blushing (condensation of moisture on sur-
face) and a false bond. To avoid this, K-FLE
USA recommends a force drying temperatur
of 180-220F. Force drying also helps
remove the solvent more rapidly.
K-FLEX420 Contact Adhesive can be applied
via pumping, spraying, brushing or rolling. Fo
pumping, a 2:1 divorced design pump is sug-gested. All material hoses should be nylon or
PVA lined. Packings and glands in contact wit
the adhesive should be PTFE. For spraying, air
pressure of 80 psi and fluid flow of 6 fl. oz/min
should be used. For brushing or rolling, typica
brushes and rollers designed for oil-based
paint may be used.
CAUTION: Direct contact of uncured adhesive irritates
eyes and may irritate skin. Overexposure to vapor
may irritate eyes, nose and throat. Avoid eye and skin
contact. Use with adequate ventilation. Do not handle
contact lenses with adhesive on hands. In case of eye
contact, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Obtain
medical attention. In case of skin contact, remove from
skin and flush with water. Keep out of the reach of

K-FLEX360 INSULATED PIPE SUPPORT
Made in U
DESCRIPTIONPipe supports create a unique insulation prob-
lem. The weight of the pipe being placed in the
support can compress the insulation, reducing
thickness and creating a thermal short circuit
that results in potential condensation forma-
tion. The K-FLEX360 Insulated Pipe Support is
one answer to this problem.
K-FLEX
360 Insulated Pipe Supports are spe-cifically designed to ensure that the thickness
of the insulation is not reduced by the weight of
the pipe. The hinged, 360 position-free, rigid
polyurethane core has a high compressive load.
It is joined by two elastomeric insulation col-
lars which provide the ideal surface to adhere
elastomeric tubular insulation using contact
adhesive. The vapor barrier is guaranteed
by the outer PVC jacket with overlapping tab
system.
The K-FLEX360 Insulated Pipe Support
system ensures proper insulation thickness
and continuity of the vapor barrier. It is avail-
able in all common IDs in 1/2 to 1-1/2 wall
thicknesses.
INSTALLATIONUsing the K-FLEX360 Insulated Pipe Support
system is extremely easy. Simply select the
correct ID and wall thickness from the wide
range of sizes available to match the pipe
insulation being used. Place the insulating
support around the pipe. After applying Con-
tact Adhesive to the grooved seams, pull th
release strip in the overlapping tab and sea
the support. Fix the metal pipe hanger colla
around the support system. Adhere the sup
