Bring your camera to capture breathtaking views from the mountaintop Visitors Center and other observation points. Mount Roberts has well marked trails for every level of hiking ability, including a wheelchair-accessible trail and a one-mile loop with interpretive signage and traditional living-tree totem carvings. More active hikers can trek to pristine alpine meadows for 360-degree panoramas. Visitors can discover Mount Roberts’ trails,

birds, wildlife and wildflowers on their own or purchase a guided tour with an expert naturalist.

DINE wITH A vIEw

Enjoy lunch, dinner, light snacks and bever-ages in the mountain-top Timberline Bar & Grill. The menu features

Alaskan specialties, an all-you-can-eat crab feed (in season), and a full bar with locally brewed beer, fine wines, spirits and cocktails. Check out the outdoor dining deck, one of Juneau’s most popular places to gather for fun, food and drinks.

Relax in the 120-seat Chilkat Theater and enjoy an introduction to the Tlingit life, heritage and history in the award-winning docudrama Seeing Daylight, shown in high definition Blu-Ray. This 18-minute film, shown throughout the day, is free with a Tramway ticket. The film accommodates hearing-impaired patrons.

Raven-Eagle Gifts in the Visitors Center is part museum and part gallery. Watch artisans carve wood and stone and bead traditional Tlingit designs on deerskin, and learn about Native culture

and a way of life that has endured for centuries. Take home artwork, children’s gifts and souvenir mementos featuring bears, wolves, eagles, moose and salmon, and choose from a library of books, CDs and DVDs on Alaska geography, mining and Gold Rush history.

Mount Roberts Tramway is operated by Goldbelt Incorporated, Juneau’s urban Alaska Native Corporation, which is owned by 3,300 Alaska Native share-holders. Goldbelt Shareholders appre-ciate the honor of sharing the Alaska Native way of life with visitors through their stories, song and art. Thank you (“gunalchéesh”) for visiting the Mount Roberts Tramway.
