The July Walk on the Wild Side will be held Saturday, July 14 along the Black River in Medford. At 9 a.m. Tracy Swedlund, who is a Medford Area Senior High School biology teacher, and some of his students
will demonstrate and discuss the water quality moni-toring activities the biology classes have been con-ducting for over ten years. In addition to physical and chemical characteristics of the water, they will collect various water creatures for all to look at and help iden-tify. Meet near the Curling Club to join the fun.
The water quality monitoring will be preceded by an early bird walk that will start at 7:30 a.m. from the covered bridge across from the Curling Club. The walk will follow the Riverwalk to the north pedestrian bridge and come back along the other side of the river, looking for birds, critters, and fl owers along the way.
