There is a basket at the Nativity Crèche, for children and others who would like to bring a gift of coins at offertory time. Lectio Eucharist In this Christmas Seasons, did you know that Bethlehem means "House of Bread"? When we receive Holy Communion, we come to Bethlehem and Jesus nourishes our souls and makes His home within us. Join us for a bible study on the Eucharist and the Mass for our everyday lives. Ten sessions will be held at MMOC on Thursdays at 6:30 - 8:00 pm beginning Jan. 30. More info is found in this bulletin. Lectio Mary As a parish, we live under Mary ’s patronage: Mother of the Church. Why is Mary so important to Catholics? Why have so many people been devoted to her over the centuries? What can we learn about her from the Bible and the early Christians? Eight sessions will be held at MMOC on Tuesdays at 6:30-7:30pm beginning Jan. 28. MMOC Chili Fest Our first Chili Fest will be on Jan. 11 at 5-7 PM (after the 4pm Mass). For $5 enjoy sampling multiple chilies made by parishioners from our parish groups. Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration PRAYER PARTNERS God beckoned the Magi to Bethlehem with a Star from the East. The Magi came from foriegn, non-Jewish countries, thus God made it clear that Jesus wasn’t just for the Isrealites, but all people on Earth. Upon their arrival, the Magi humbled themselves, fell prostrate to Jesus, and adored him. They also honored him with precious treasures of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. It is obvious they knew exactly who they were visiting in that simple manger. The Christ Child, the Messiah, the Savior, God’s beloved Son, Jesus. What are your most precious, treasured gifts you could give to Jesus? Could you give him your heart in an hour of Eucharistic Adoration each week? If not, what is holding you back? Perhaps it is the unknown; “What would I do for an hour?” There are many ways to “make a Holy Hour” and it doesn’t have to be complicated. At St. Rose, the Sisters and Prayer Partners start by praying for the specific prayer requests sent into them from around the world. After this intercessory prayer time, adorers can offer a rosary, read from the bible, meditate on a scripture passage, explore a spiritual book, journal, or contemplate their faith and their relationship with Jesus. The hour spent with Jesus is different for everyone, but one aspect remains constant - Jesus. He delights in spending time with you, listening to you, sharing with you.
Next weekend, Sr. Georgia Christensen, FSPA, will speak after Communion about the Sisters’ request for adoration assistance and offer an invitation to the upcoming open house. Additionally, Sr. Georgia and Sr. Dawn Kutt will be available in the back of church to answer any questions you may have about becoming a prayer partner. In the
meantime, these prayer partners have shared how they spend their time with Jesus. “One silently prays for all the petitions sent in to St. Rose Convent, and I take some too! A booklet is provided with additional prayers to offer and I usually get in a rosary.” ~ Edna Spohn “Recently I’ve become aware of contemplative adoration. A way to focus on the fact that I am in the presence of God. That God loves me so much he gave his son.” ~ Prayer Partner If God is beckoning to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration as a FSPA Prayer Partner, you are invited to attend an Open House at St. Rose Convent on Sunday, January 19 any time between 1:30-3:00 p.m. or contact Sr. Georgia Christensen at 608-791-5287 or [email protected]. In addition to a chapel tour, an information packet will be available. After the successful completion of an application and background check, the FSPA will hold a group orientation for new Prayer Partners on Saturday, February 1.

Building Our Future Together As of December 19
$985,000
Building Our Future Together A New Year and a new decade has begun! It
seems fitting to start the New Year expressing grati-tude for all that has happened these past few years. God has blessed us abundantly and we pray his blessings will continue to be with each one of us throughout the coming years.
Thank you to each and every one who has re-sponded so generously to Building Our Future To-gether. What has been accomplished is amazing! All of your prayers, sacrifices, time, and work have be-come a tangible blessing. Your faithful commitment and support through your regular tithing commitments have been remarkable. Not only have we gained indi-vidually through God’s blessings, but it has been transformational for our parish.
We’re grateful for the huge efforts so many make to sponsor Chicken Ques, Softball Tourna-ments, Cookie Walks, Fish Fries, Rummage Sales, Football and Hoops Mania, and very soon, our first Chili Fest! We are also so grateful for the generosity provided for the flowers that adorn the sanctuary, the wonderful music program that so beautifully enhances our liturgies, the many ministers of Communion, read-ers, ushers, hospitality hosts, our catechists in reli-gious education programs, RCIA, faith sharing groups, adult bible study, and children’s Liturgy of the Word; and the guidance and support of our Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and Building Our Future Together Commission has been inestimable.
Over time, we have seen many churches of all denominations experience decline. We have been blessed to have so many faith-filled, dedicated parish-ioners that create a vibrant, involved parish. Thank you!
During this joyous season of Christmas, please remember to keep our parish and each other in prayer as we continue to Build Our Future Together. Happy New Year!
