2019 Annual Arts Gala
A huge thank you to everyone for such a fantastic Arts Gala. It was a massive team effort
and the hard work has paid off to once again showcase Richmond Primary School and our
talented, dedicated and resilient students. It takes a lot of courage, practice and dedication
to get on stage to perform and our resilient students were able to showcase their perform-
ing arts and music abilities on the stage. The art exhibition component of the evening con-
sisted of creative, expressive and interesting art pieces taking on many different forms and
using a variety of mediums. Congratulations to Chony and Stu, it was fantastic to see all of
your knowledge and passion in your specialist area shine through, you should be extremely
proud. Without our parent community, nights like the Arts Gala would be impossible, a big
thank you to Amy, Zoe and Krysia, as well as your crew of helpers.

After School Supervision
While our school grounds are a fun and
exciting place to play during school time.
Unfortunately after 3.45pm there are no
teachers on yard duty for supervision. The
OSCH staff are unable to supervise students
unless they are enrolled into the program.
We ask that if you are running late, students
are either enrolled into OSCH or make their
way to the office when the 3.45pm bell rings.
Parent supervision is required after school
times to ensure the safety of our RPS stu-
dents.
Save the date—Stu’s Farewell
Stu Cooper is retiring from RPS. To cele-
brate his retirement from teaching and stel-
lar career we will be holding a special fare-
well assembly on December 13th from 2.30-
3.30pm. More details will follow, so watch
this space.
ITS ALL ABOUT FRACTIONS & DECIMALS IN THE 3/4 AREA It has already been a very busy and fun start to our Maths unit this term in the 3/4 area. The 3/4 students have been learning all about fractions and decimals in class. We have been learning about the different types of fractions e.g. proper, mixed num-ber and improper fractions, then making these using 2D shapes. The students also have been learning how to plot and count by fractions on a number line and then represent the fractions as a decimal. We finished our awesome unit on fractions and decimals by showing all our knowledge using a ‘thinkboard’. We are very proud of all the students how they have come in ready to make the most of their last term.
3/4 Team
ASK AN EXPERT! The 3/4 students were lucky enough this week to have a group of parent experts come in to chat to them about the design process in their profes-sion, for their inquiry investigation. The students were engaged, interested and were able to con-nect their learning to real life careers. A huge thank you to our parent volunteers, for taking time away from their busy jobs to share their expert knowledge with us. It is fantastic to see our RPS Community willing to contribute to our students learning journey.
Parent Opinion Survey 2019 Results In the Annual Implementation Plan for 2019 the goal for teacher communication was to reach 77%. The results clearly surpassed this
which was very pleasing. The table below shows high levels of parent satisfaction in their ability to engage with the school. The last point of teachers communicating with me often enough about my child’s pro-gress is currently being addressed through a trial of KAT’s through the Seesaw App. We will seek parent feedback on KAT’s in a cou-ple of weeks. At RPS we are always reflecting and initiating ways that we can be continual-ly improving our school.
