• Keep noise levels down.• Become familiar with the regulationsposted on bulletin boards whenusing developed areas. The rulesare there to protect you, other visitors,and the forest environment.• Keep your pets leashed and do notleave pet food unattended. It attractswild animals.
• Plan ahead and prepare for your trip.• Use maps and other references to findout about the area you will be visiting.• Drinking water is not always availableat all campgrounds. Bring your ownwater. If you use water from a lake orstream, boil or chemically treat it beforedrinking.• Pay all fees required before using thesite or facility.• There is a 16 day maximum stay onNational Forest lands.• Cell phone use is limited. Fee camp-grounds managed by the concessionairehave phones for emergency use only.Contact the campground host.
Obey fire restrictions and use existingfire rings within developed sites. Do not break branches from live trees. Instead, collect loose sticks and dead downed wood from the ground. Burn wood completely and extinguish fires com-pletely. Never leave a fire unattended.
Possession of fireworks is not allowedon National Forest lands.
To protect nature and your surroundings,use existing campsites and trails.Leave what you find in place for othersto enjoy.
Put your trash in the receptaclesprovided or pack it out if none are available. Use bathrooms when providedor keep 200 feet away from all watersources if none are available. Rememberto always keep the water clean.
Wild animals can be dangerous. Watchall wildlife from a safe distance withoutapproaching, feeding or followingthem. Secure all food and trash. Keeppets leashed at all times while indeveloped recreation sites.
If your campsite is left unattended for any length of time you must store any food or refuse, including canned food and bever-ages, garbage, pet food and livestock feed, and any other attractants (such as food leftovers or bacon grease) in a bear resistant manner as follows:• In a hard-sided camper, vehicle trunk orcab, or enclosed horse trailer.• In an IGBC approved bear resistant container(most storage boxes are NOT bear resistant).• Within an IGBC approved and operatingelectric fence.http://igbconline.org/bear-resistant-products/• In campsite food storage locker (if provided)• Suspended 10’ up and 4’ out from avertical support, like a tree, and at least300’ from any sleeping area.
None of these materials shall be buried, discarded, or burned in an open campfire.
