Is an arrangement to enable a person to learn at the time, place and pace
which satisfies their circumstances and requirements.
Opening up opportunities by overcoming barriers that result from geographical
isolation, personal or work commitments or conventional course structures

Credit System:
Each credit amounts to 30 hours of study comprising all learning
activities. Thus, a six credit course involves 180 hours.
This helps the learner to understand the academic effort one has to
put in, in order to successfully complete a course.

Assignments
A compulsory component.
Referred as: Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA).
They carry 30% weight-age towards the final grade.
Helps learners prepare for the final term-end- examination.
Assignments are provided by University which can be downloaded from the
website : http://webserver.ignou.ac.in/Assignments/index.htm
Assignments are evaluated by University approved evaluators.
Submission of Assignments is mandatory for appearing in term-end-exams.

Submission of Assignment
For Jan Session: 1st - 30th April
For July Session: 1st - 31st October
Strictly follow the above deadlines.
Learners outside Kathmandu:
Can send the assignment by courier to the study center
Retain the courier receipt to produce in future, incase of any discrepancy
Collect the Acknowledgement slip after the submission of assignment.

TERM END EXAMINATION (TEE)
Term End Exams (TEE) are held twice a year, i.e. June & December.
TEE is evaluated on 70%.
Learners will be free to appear at any of the exams provided that the minimum
period of study prescribed for the relevant course/ program has elapsed.
TEE are held under the overall supervision of Indian Mission at two
examination centers in Nepal i.e. : Biratnagar (9601) & Kathmandu (9602)
Learners intending to appear for TEE are required to fill up the examination
form & submit the same to PI.

TEE: ContinuedStudents should make sure that he/ she has opted/ pursued and paid the full
course fee and examination fee for the course they intend to appear.
The results are published within 3 months
Please remember that filling up and providing the TEE form is your
responsibility. The center will only remind you once.
Learners are issued Hall Ticket/ Admit Card for TEE from the University.
It may be downloaded from website.
Enrollment card and Hall Ticket is to be carried at the Examination Hall.

Re-Registration
Re-Registration: When a student on roll applies for continuing his studies for
the next semester/ year (session), it will be called “re-registration”. Usually, It is
done two months prior to the examination.

Other information that you should know
Transfer Facility: Learners can seek transfer to any of the 82
international study centers in 43 Countries & 3000 study centers in
India by paying transfer fee as prescribed by the University and
fulfilling the necessary requirements.
Other Services: Learners can seek other services like submission of
TMA, project/ dissertation from any IGNOU centers by paying Value
Added Service Charges as prescribed by University only on special
conditions.

Refund of fees
Non-refundable under any circumstances. It is also not adjustable
against any other program of this University.
However, in cases where University denies admission, the
program fee will be refunded.

• receive an approval from the agency…ICA could provide
you a recommendation letter in case if agency demands
• write an application and send it to [email protected]
requesting for an allotment of field work supervisor
• An authorization letter would be sent to the learner via
email once s/he is allotted with the supervisor. The letter
must be signed by the supervisor after the completion of
field work journal

Field Work Supervisor

• Field work is supervised by a professionally qualified social worker
• Study centre allots the supervisor upon request
• The supervisor once allotted will be valid for a year
• Renewal for extension could be done with mutual consent between the
supervisor and the learner…certain supervisory charges must be paid if the
task could not be completed within stipulated time frame of a year
• Deadlines for field work journal submission must always be followed in
accordance to operational calendar
