Your Club Car electric Precedent golf car isdesigned and built to deliver years of worry-freedriving pleasure. To keep your vehicle in goodworking condition and preserve its life, practiceregular preventive maintenance.

Don’t Neglect the Batteries

Take the following steps to avoid damageand maximize the life of your batteries:

Charge the batteries after each use. Neverleave batteries discharged overnight orlonger than absolutely necessary.

If your vehicle is not equipped with thesingle-point watering system, check yourelectrolyte level weekly and add water ifneeded.

If your vehicle is equipped with the single-point watering system, water the batteriesmonthly or according to the wateringinterval you’ve established, following theinstructions in your owner’s manual.

Charge the batteries before adding water,unless the electrolyte level is below the top

of the plates. In that case, add just enoughwater to cover the plates. Then charge thebatteries and check the level again. Nevercharge the batteries when the plates areexposed above the electrolyte level. Tomaximize the life of your batteries, add onlydistilled water. Do not overfill the batteries.Fully tighten the battery caps to preventelectrolyte leakage.

Make sure the battery hold-downs are tightenough so that the batteries do not movewhile the vehicle is in motion. Do not over-tighten, as this can cause the battery caseto crack or buckle. Inspect the terminalconnections regularly to ensure that theyare clean and tight. Replace any worninsulation or frayed wires.

Keep the batteries clean and free ofcorrosion by washing the tops andterminals monthly. Use a solution of onecup baking soda per one gallon of water. Donot allow the solution to enter thebatteries. Thoroughly rinse the solution offthe batteries. Fully tighten the batteryterminals. Let the terminals dry, then coat

Semi-annual Maintenance

You’ll also need to perform regularmaintenance on your Club Car Precedent everysix months or every 50 hours of operation.

This is the time to:

Check the pressure in your tires and adjust,if necessary.

Have a trained technician inspect yourvehicle’s brake system, electrical system,front wheel alignment, camber and toe-in.Proper toe-in ensures that the front wheelsare pointing slightly inward to reduce wear.

Lubricate or have a trained servicetechnician lubricate your chargerreceptacle, brake system and frontsuspension.

If you have a single-point watering system,manually check or have a trained Club Carservice technician check the electrolytelevels on all battery cells to verify correctvalve operation.

Annual Maintenance

Have a trained Club Car service techniciancheck your transaxle and pedal group assemblyand lubricate as needed annually or every 100hours of operation.

Don’t Assault Your Batteries!

Be especially careful to follow the detailedinstructions regarding battery maintenance inyour owner’s manual. Leaving batteriesdischarged, overfilling batteries or adding waterat inappropriate times can severely damageyour batteries.
