High Holy Days @Shul Jewish LearningWorks
This booklet was created to be used @home or @shul, with the needs of all types of learners and all levels of observance in mind. We understand that some people may want to use pens or pencils to complete the activities and others may not. To use this booklet without pens or pencils, or to create a more sensory experience, gather the following materials.
1. Felt or paper shapes - Use the cover page as a template to create a pomegranate, honey jar, shofar and apple.
2. Stickers - Use stickers to decorate and play games.
3. A small object or toy - Use it to travel through mazes and search for words.

Jackson is excited! Rosh Hashana is coming!
Rosh Hashana is Jackson’s favorite holiday. Apples and honey, blessings and songs! He loves to celebrate the New Year tucked and braided into a golden spiraled challah.
The circular shape is beautiful. Shiny. Perfect. It reminds him of the sun. It reminds him of the earth.

It reminds him of the 7 days of creation and the never ending circle of life.
It reminds him that each year, and really, each day, is a new opportunity to start fresh.
Jackson loves Rosh Hashana!

Color the tiles below, and cut on the dotted lines to create your very ownRosh Hashanah-themed memory matching game!
If your paper is thin enough to see through to the other side, glue this page to construction paper or cardstock before you cut out the tiles; otherwise, your game might be just a bit too easy!

What does the sound of the shofar sound like to you?Does it sound like a siren? A crying voice? A trumpet announcing the king?
The shofar speaks to everyone differently.Close your eyes, think about the sound of the shofar,
and draw what comes to mind for you. (There are no wrong answers!)
