The average window company stays in business for only 15 months. It’s a shocking statistic in an industry full of cowboys. This has resulted in shoddy sales practices, products that don’t even meet minimum compliance standards and substandard products made from the lowest price components.
We regularly hear of members of the public that have been mis-sold products and have been given promises of things such as ‘A’ rated glass, high spec conservatory roof glass and high quality components, only to be supplied poor quality products, installed with cheap mastic and cheap fixings. Most windows, doors and conservatories look the same the day they are installed, the difference is that ours are built to last.
If your products don’t comply with the correct legislation then the building inspector may insist that they are removed.
We work diligently to ensure that we comply with all current legislation. A lot of the industry simply don’t bother! Don’t get caught out. For extra peace of mind all our installations have insurance backed guarantees.
Buyer Beware
Certified Quality Don’t Just Take Our Word For it!
To comply with Building Regulations your window and door installation will have to be registered with Building Control and meet strict requirements.
There are two main regulatory bodies, these are CERTASS and FENSA. These organisations carry out random site inspections to ensure that installations comply with current building regulations on things like; fire escape windows, energy efficient glass, use of toughened safety glass etc. You can check on their website to ensure that your chosen installer complies, needless to say we do!
Both CERTASS and FENSA have done a great job in raising industry standards, but unfortunately there are still a lot of cowboys out there. Some glass companies have reported that as much as 30% of glass that they supply doesn’t even meet the 2001 regulations for thermal efficiency, as unscrupulous installers look to cut costs. BUYER BEWARE!
Your installation will be registered with CERTASS (www.certass.co.uk). Solicitors will nearly always ask to see a copy of this certificate if you sell your house, so make sure that you keep it safe.
30 YEARS
FIRST CLASS CREDENTIALS!
BS7412: Covers materials, construction, security, safety, weather tightness, operation and strength performance.
Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.
Our casement windows are independently tested by the British Standards institution to the following standards.
This means that periodically we have to send them to independent test houses to be tested to destruction. These are just some of the many standards that products in our vast product range conform to! Needless to say we take the quality of our products very seriously indeed.
PAS24: Is the very stringent improved security test, where windows are tested to destruction to ensure they meet the requirements of enhanced security.
Did you know? Our factory and head office is powered by a 112 kw solar panel array which
provides nearly all of our electricity. We recycle nearly all plastic, metal, cardboard, polythene,
glass and waste materials. We run one of the newest, low CO2 vehicle fleets in the industry!

Top Environmental Credentials
Our products come top of the class
when it comes to environmental
credentials. They have been awarded an
energy rating of up to A for maximum
thermal efficiency.
Our products give you the best
performance to lower your heating bills
and to keep your home warm.
Make sure you specify the best glass to
save you money on your heating bills.
CE Marking
As from July 2013, windows and
doors have to meet the requirements
of CE Marking. It is against the law
to not comply.
We were one of the first companies
in the industry to carry out the
necessary testing and to be able to
provide the correct documentation.
Lots of companies don’t currently
comply. Buyer beware!
Buy from us to ensure that
your windows and doors
meet the latest safety and
energy efficiency standards.
Thermal Ratings
By law your windows and doors
have to meet strict thermal
performance regulations. Rest
assured that our products exceed
all current requirements.
We carry out simulations on our
product range to ensure the best
thermal performance; and according
to current regulations we affix Thermal
Rating labels to our product to show
they comply.
(Information correct as of July 2013, regulations andquality standards are constantly changing and are subjectto continuous improvement)

Exceptional performance that’s good news for the planet - and for your pocket.
Energy efficiency
Turn your home into a lean green energy-saving machine, by installing our PVC-U windows and doors. We can help you to reduce your carbon footprint and your energy bills in lots of clever ways.
Top environmental credentials
Our products come top of the class when it comes to environmental credentials. They have been awarded an energy rating of up to A+ and are made of a material that’s achieved a BFRC (British Fenestration Rating Council) Green Guide A rating.
But there’s even more. Our products are designed to provide excellent U-value ratings for their efficiency at keeping the heat in your home - and the very best levels of Window Energy Rating (WER).
Planet-friendly features
Our products are packed full of clever features like plastic thermal reinforcements made from 100% recycled material to keep in more heat, to advanced glass that can reflect heat back into your home and capture free heat from the sun through solar gain. Most importantly, our products are also designed so that they can be collected and recycled back into new PVC-U products.
Turning things around
Rising energy costs, cold homes, global warming, we’re helping to address these important issues. Our windows cleverly include some non-visible recycled PVC-U window content, such as the reinforcement bars that are fitted inside the opening frame profiles to provide added strength and thermal efficiency. Unlike some other options out there, our PVC-U windows can be recycled up to 10 times with a total lifespan of 400 years!

There are literally thousands of different glass specifications to
choose from; whether you are looking for enhanced thermal
efficiency, security, sound insulation, privacy, fire resistance,
heat or glare reduction etc. Our product development team
has put a lot of time into researching the most innovative
solutions available and our advisors have been trained to give
you sound advice.
Not only will we advise you on the best glazing solution, but
with us you can be sure that you also get what you have
paid for. One of the largest sealed unit manufacturers in the
UK recently told us that 30% of all glass ordered with them
doesn’t even meet 2001 Building Regulations requirements.
It is a statement of fact that lots of companies sell ‘A’ rated
energy efficient windows but only supply the customer with
‘E’ rated cheaper equivalents; this is also widely reported with
customers being sold expensive conservatory roof glass, only
to be given basic specification, standard glass.
Acoustic performance
We offer a range of solutions to reduce noise depending on your
specific requirements. Noise is typically measured with Decibel
Ratings (DB). Ask your sales advisor for a comparison chart.
Our range of obscure
glass offers you varying
levels of privacy and a
choice of designs.
These are the eight
most popular choices.

SELF CLEANING
Security
Toughened glass can be a cost effective way to enhance
security. Laminated glass is even stronger, but is more costly.
Safety
Toughened glass is stronger and safer than normal glass.
When it breaks it shatters into tiny fragments as opposed to
dangerous shards of glass. We fit toughened glass as standard
on all doors and windows below 800mm from floor height.
Thermal performance
We can offer you ‘A’ rated and triple glazed windows,
featuring the most technically superior glass available today,
with U Values as low as 0.8.
Self cleaning glass - how does it work?
Self cleaning glass, has a titanium dioxide coating, which makes
the glass very flat, this makes it harder for dirt to stick and
causes water to sheet down and clean the glass. UV filters
integrated within the surface coating, break down organic dirt
such as bird droppings which enables it to be washed away
(hydrophilic action).
Sun reflection/Heat retention
Various coatings can be added to the glass to reflect direct
sunlight, reduce glare and retain valuable heat, this is very
popular with conservatory roofs. There are numerous options
depending on your budget and requirements.

Add character and let more natural light into your home
Whether your home features a traditional bay or a more modern
bow-style window, we can offer you a high-performance, draught-free
and secure solution. Bay and bow windows open your room up to
the outdoors, creating a feeling of space to maximise your glazing area
and flood your home with natural light.
Maximum ventilation and easy to clean from inside
Tilt and turn windows combine the benefits of a large glass area with
ease of cleaning and excellent ventilation. The innovative tilt-and-turn
mechanism enables the window to be opened inwards from the top for
effective ventilation or from the side for safe and easy cleaning from
within your home. Warning! They open inwards so aren’t suitable if you
have curtains or other objects in the way.
Classic choice offering unrestricted access
This double opening window perfectly complements cottage-style
properties. Twin opening sashes with no fixed central mullion allows you
to invigorate your home with fresh air and really let the outside in, whilst
providing an effective means of fire escape from upper floors. Advanced
locking mechanisms mean that you can now create traditional cottage
looks without compromising on security.
Vertical sliding windows
Our heritage approved vertical sliders replicate traditional sash windows
but without the draughts and rattles that you get with old timber windows.
They are available in white & the following woodgrain foils: White, Cream,
Irish Oak, Chartwell Green, Grey, Black/Brown, Cherrywood & Golden Oak.
The cutting-edge design features triple brush seals for exceptional draught
proofing, plus an anti-jemmy bar and hardware that is reinforced for
optimum security. Both the upper and lower sashes slide and tilt inwards
to enable safe and
easy cleaning from
inside and allow
maximum ventilation.

To give great definition and long life performance our composite doors use glass reinforced plastic skins. That’s the same material used to make
the hulls of boats!
A stylish entrance.
Our high quality composite doors come in a range of elegant styles and colours to
enhance the entrance to your home; with multipoint locks and strong hinge mechanisms,
our doors are manufactured with security in mind. No compromises have been made in
fitting the best components for years of maintenance free use.
What is a composite door?
Composite doors use the latest GRP technology (Glass Reinforced Plastic) to offer the
ultimate in strength, style and durability. GRP is also used to make boat hulls, which
gives you an indication of just how tough and durable the material is.
Better home security
Your home is your personal retreat and you need to know you have done everything you
can to protect your family and belongings. The GRP skin, a super strong structural frame
and up to the minute hardware offer the highest possible security. Upgrade to Secured
by Design specification for maximum security.
Woodgrain effect colours
The surface of the door has a woodgrain texture to mimic the look of timber. Take a
look at the colour options below to personalise your door. (Warning! Black, Oak and
Darkwood door colours are not a perfect match with the frame colour).

Custom built for a perfect fit
Patio doors are back in fashion as they are easy to operate, don’t
blow about in the wind, can span large widths and give you a large
glass area; they can be specified in PVCu or Aluminium.
PVCu doors are available in two, three and four pane configurations;
we also offer a low threshold option for easy access.
Our aluminium patio doors are available with all the options above
and in any RAL colour. We also offer a double track system with
three panes that can span over 6 meters, where all panels slide back
over one, this is a great alternative to bi-folds as they are easy to
operate, give maximum glass area and don’t flap in the wind.
Available configurations: Aluminium only.
Traditional style with maximum ventilation
PVCu stable doors provide maximum ventilation without
the need to open the whole door, so you can keep your pets
and children safely in doors, whilst allowing lots of fresh air
into your home. Doors come with galvanised steel reinforced
frames and multi-point locks to ensure maximum security.
Our doors are available in a range of colours and you have a
wide choice of glazing and hardware options to complement
your home.

Patio Doors
Classic choice offering unrestricted access
French doors can be specified either as a pair
of doors, doors with side screens or even with
openers in the side screens. Bear in mind that
the maximum door width is around 1800mm
or 2000mm at a push with extra hinges and a
technical disclaimer, which is the reason that
customers opt for side screens. French doors can
be fitted with restrictors to hold them open at 90
degrees, or aperture permitting, you can fold them
back and fit cabin hooks to hold them in position.

Bi-fold doors allow the maximum use of space and glide
along top and bottom tracks using stainless steel rollers,
making opening and closing effortless.
It’s important to chose your door configuration carefully
to best meet your requirements. The main choices are all
doors opening one way, a single door to one side (which
depending on the configuration can either have a handle
on the outside or not, so be careful!), or incorporating a set
of french doors. The next major decision is whether you
want them to stack inside or outside. Most open out as
they will give you a lower threshold and more internal living
space. Open in doors are normally specified where you have
restrictions such as a juliet balcony.
Things to consider…
1. Usage What do you want to use your
conservatory for?
2. Budget It’s important that you have
an idea of budget so that we can design
your conservatory to give you best
value for money. Our pricing is fair and
honest, so if your budget allows we can
design you something really special.
3. Size Don’t skimp on size, that extra
few meters doesn’t cost much more and
will give you a more usable space.
4. Positioning The orientation of your
conservatory will determine the most
appropriate roof material and ventilation.
Our advisors will be happy to give you
advice on this.
5. Style By visiting your home we can
make an assessment of site limitations,
provide solutions and help you through
the process of choosing the most
suitable style for you and your home.
6. Materials It’s vital that you choose
the right roof materials and the right
side frame glass to give you maximum
enjoyment throughout the year.
7. Planning permission
Planning laws have recently been relaxed,
which means that in most cases you
have more freedom to choose what you
want. Make sure you make us aware
of local planning restrictions and any
local knowledge you have on ground
conditions etc. If in doubt it’s better to
be safe than sorry and seek advice.
8. Cavity trays Adding a conservatory
effectively makes your outside wall
an internal one. Opt for a cavity tray
to prevent damp from above seeping
through brickwork or render and entering
the conservatory.
Conservatories
20
Choosing the perfect conservatory to extend your home
can be a daunting task; we’re here to guide you through the
process to ensure that you end up with the best result. Our
innovative products will give you the best long term return
on your investment and enable you to use your conservatory
all year round.
Our choice of traditional and contemporary designs and our
range of colours, finishes and styles is simply second to none.
If you need advice, just ask. Our consultants will be delighted
to create a design sympathetic to your property, your living
requirements and, of course, budget.
We’ve worked hard on product development to expand
the choices available to you. Recent innovations include:
A choice of 10 different colours, such as Chartwell Green,
Cream and Rustic Cherry. Roof options with significantly
improved heat reflection and thermal insulation, insulated
tiled roof conservatories and self cleaning roof glass. Heating
options include air conditioning and underfloor heating. You
can even opt for bi-fold doors stretching the entire front of
the conservatory.
Extreme weather testing!
Our conservatories have been designed to withstand extreme weather
and are independently performance tested. To put it simply, for your
peace of mind our conservatories are built to last.
21
Most conservatories are made up of four main styles, Lean To, Victorian,
Edwardian and Gable End. These styles can be adjusted and combined to make
all sorts of weird and wonderful shapes. For example, they can all be hipped at
the back to overcome height restrictions or adjoin a bungalow.
Popular Styles
Victorian Conservatories
Victorian conservatories offer a traditional look; they tend to have three or five facets
to the front elevation, and ornate detailing along the ridge of the apex roof. Be careful
though the shaped front will limit your usable space compared to a squarer style.
Edwardian or Georgian Conservatories
This is by far the most popular style, the square shape will give you maximum internal
space and versatility when positioning doors etc. The vaulted roof gives you a real sense of
space. A popular option is to build the walls higher on one side, with a row of windows on
top to provide wall space to hang a TV and to give privacy from neighbours.
Gable Conservatories
This style features a flat Gable frame to the front elevation, which gives you the
opportunity to make a real statement with an attractive bespoke design. This design is
perfect if you opt for blinds as all of the roof glass units are rectangular in shape; fitting
blinds to Edwardian and Victorian Conservatories can be complicated and expensive.
Lean To Conservatories
The Lean to is still incredibly popular, it’s simplicity makes this the lowest cost option.
This style is available with a 2.5 degree pitch which makes it ideal if you have height
restrictions. It is also widely used where there are adjoining walls.
Something Different...
The above styles can be combined to form P and T and L shaped conservatories, this is
especially popular with larger designs. Hips, valleys and box gutters can be used to design
your perfect solution. The Gable, Victorian and Edwardian styles can also be hipped at the
back should you need to reduce the height to avoid windows, low guttering, plumbing etc.
A Conservatory is one of the most cost-effective
and flexible ways to extend your home, a well designed
conservatory can quite simplytransform the way you live.
All of our products are made bespoke for you, our skilled advisors can help you to design your perfect Conservatory

Use your conservatory every day of the year
The biggest complaint with conservatories is that they are too hot
in the summer and too cold in the winter. The latest innovation is
tiled roof conservatories, which come fully insulated to meet modern
building regulations, but are a fraction of the cost of a typical extension.
In order to reduce weight our roofs feature a range of synthetic tiles
designed to match the appearance of natural slate, clay and concrete
tiles, even the ridge cappings look authentic. The roof will also be fully
insulated to provide you with U values as low as 0.18, which will help
to regulate room temperature all year round. The insulated roof space
is underboarded with plasterboard and skimmed ready for a paint finish,
this also gives you the opportunity to have low energy downlights fitted.
They are available in a wide range of styles and are made bespoke to
your size and design. (Building Control approval may be required)
Stylish and innovative
We normally supply Lantern Roofs for
customers that have existing flat roof
areas or where they are having extensions
built. The Lantern design will flood light
into your living space, whilst regulating
the temperature to ensure that you have
a year round usable space.

Orangeries
An Orangery will give your home the wow factor and
make your friends and neighbours green with envy.
Our customers have told us that they have been
absolutely delighted with the end result.
Elegance and style all year round
Our patented designs enable us to provide you with your dream Orangery at a
fraction of the cost of a ‘traditional build’.
One thing is for sure, whatever style you go for, you will be creating a stunning and
practical living area. The features, styles and colours available mean that you really
can make a truly stunning addition to your home.
What are the main differences between a standard conservatory
and an Orangery? (You can pick and choose from our choice of options)
• A deep eaves beam, which raises the height of the roof,
to increase the feeling of grandeur.
• Deep, raised aluminium cornicing/fascia, which gives a
real feel of presence.
• Reeded regency pilasters.
• A stepped internal ledge, (plaster boarded and skimmed)
which can be fitted with downlights or audio speakers.
This style is also available with Bi-folding doors and vertical sliding windows.
Raised line Pelmet PodLow lineTwo fitting optionsGlobal Summer has two main fitting options - raised line and low line which alters the height that the decorative gutter fascia sits above the conservatory windows.
Low line installations use our bi-fold door support underneath the heavy duty eaves beam to keep the pelmet pod internal soffit in line with the conservatory’s gutter. Low line is ideal when the overall conservatory height needs to be contained, or to fit in with a more compact property’s proportions.
Raised line installation uses the orangery eaves beam extender beneath our standard eaves beam to lift the roof 170mm over the frames and provides increased space between the pelmet pod internal soffit and the roof. This increased height adds grandeur to Global Summer installations, provides a more authentic orangery look and helps distinguish them from standard conservatories.
The pod range Our innovative and versatile pod system creates a ‘ladder’ framework that allows for easy on site adjustment.
Pods are available as either pelmet pods with a 300mm projection or as mullion pods with a projection of 150mm* - perfect for creating the vertical mullion section between windows.

Protect your home against rising energy costsThere has never been a better time to switchto solar electricity
Why invest in solar panels?
You can benefit in three ways:
1. You are paid a set fee for every unit of
electricity you generate, known as the
“feed-in” tariff, regardless of whether you
use it.
2. Any energy you use up to the amount
you generate is free.
3. You get paid an export tariff for exporting
energy back to the grid.
What are the maintenance costs of a solar PV system?
Solar PV systems require very little
maintenance. In most circumstances
rainfall will keep them clean.
If the feed in tariff changes after my installation will I lose money?
NO - the feed in tariff is fixed for 20 years
from the date your application is approved.
The rate actually increases year on year
in line with the retail price index, which is
currently 3.6%.
How long will the installation take?
Typically one day, but occasionally an
installation may run into two days,
especially in winter months.
How can I maximise the saving I make from my system?
Use as much electricity as possible during the
day when your panels are producing energy.
A 4kw system generates on average
3600kWh of energy per annum, the same as
a typical household.
Will my system produce electricity on cloudy overcast days?
YES - it doesn’t rely on bright sunshine
just daylight.
Do your prices include scaffolding?
Yes all of our prices are fully inclusive of
everything that is required to get your
system installed and commissioned; including
the EPC and structural survey. There are no
additional hidden costs.
My roof is not South facing can I still have a solar PV system?
YES - PV systems are very effective in
almost all roof orientations. We are
able to accurately forecast your systems
performance based on the orientation and
pitch of your roof. You can even have panels
on more than one elevation to maximise
your return.
