Hi, my name is Anke. I‘m professor of
the geography
education and I currently
work at Justus-Liebig-University in
Giessen. I coordinate the German activities of the project.
I’m supported by a team of very engaged young people,
who look at the world from quite different perspectives.

Why did I join?
It‘s great to work with great people
But also because my student teachers who have just left school think that for example people in Northern Togo…
• do not need electrical power because they have to solve their hunger problem first,
• cannot install wind power plants as they do not know how to operate them
• do not need windmills as they have no electrical power
• cannot operate windmills as there is no wind in the warmer regions
• live a life in unity with nature that Europeans should not interfere with
…or as a friend of mine from Togo says:
„They still have a long way to go to meet the real world.“
What I am hoping for
That teachers and students start wondering…
…whether things are what they seem to be
…whether their causalities make sense
