Where: Jacksonville Beach, FL When: March 20 - 26 Who: 18 Georgia Tech students, 2 advisors What: Habitat for Humanity (aka – You get to
build houses!!!)
WHY?
Take the “alternative” Be the difference in the world Meet other Tech students who care about
service Meet the families that you will impact Build teamwork skills Learn to operate construction tools (yes, you
will use a compound miter saw) Spend your break in FLORIDA Go to the beach HAVE FUN!!!
TRIP DETAILS
Leave Sunday (March 20th) and return Saturday (March 26th); taking two vans
Work 5 days on the work site (early start); 8 AM – 4 PM
Group activities in the afternoons (bring extra $ for this, ~$50) Dinner Visit the city of Jacksonville Laser tag Go-carts Mini-golf “Mr. Yogato” night out THE BEACH!!!
TRIP DETAILS (CONTINUED)
Lodging – Youth group house provided by Habitat (close to the beach)
Food – Habitat provides meals on-site + we do all our cooking + special dinner
Daily reflections (Not gonna be cheesy. Promise.)
Free Habitat T-shirts Trip is organized through the Office of
Community Service at Georgia Tech, thus… Alcohol and drug free trip

More fundraising = less cost/person Spots are limited
Spots available = (20 people total) – (2 advisors) – (3 student leaders) = 15 Tech students
APPLICATION + DEPOSIT Apply before February 18th at:
http://tinyurl.com/ASB2011-Application By applying you are indicating a COMMITMENT. On
Friday, February 18th, a non-refundable deposit of $100 (cash/checks) will need to be made if you have already submitted an application; the first 15 people to turn in the payment are in!!! (Trip meetings will ensue)
Turn in deposit to the Student Involvement Center (above Einstein’s in the Student Center) after 10:00 AM; a waiting list will be formed as needed. The DEPOSIT, not the application, will guarantee you a spot on the trip!

CHECKS
Make checks payable to Georgia Tech Foundation, and put “Alternative Break Trip – Your Name” in the memo line.
Full payment of the trip will vary based on the success of our fundraising; once the group is formed we will notify you of how to pay the final amount at a group meeting.
