Recommendation
The existing configuration (slip-around lane) accommodates existing travel demand, and does not warrant
signals within the 20 year planning horizon. (A roundabout may be recommended when signals are
recommended). Left turn movements from CR18 to CR20 are minimal and storage is not required.

Recommendation
Alternative 1B reduces the skew angle of the existing intersection and accommodates the turning movements at a low
cost to improve traffic operations and safety. Based on forecast demand, the intersection does not warrant a
roundabout. The safety of a single roundabout is considered to outweigh the additional property required.

Recommendation
The current intersection alignment safely accommodates the existing
turning movements. The Special Character Road design will include
localized median bulb-outs to reduce speeds within the limits of the
intersection and therefore the roundabout design is not warranted.
