The powerful grinding system
The ZETA® grinding system represents continued development of the John system combined with the rotor-slotted pipe separation system. The enclosed horizontal agitator bead mill is designed for the highest product throughput and is equipped with a high-intensity pin grinding system.
The product fl ows horizontally through the agitator mill from the inlet on the bearing side and exits via the slotted pipe at the bottom of the chamber. The guided fl ow of the product through the media intensive grinding zone ensures
uniform loading within the mill. The dynamic separation system reliably holds the grinding media inside the grinding zone. This enables the highest throughput rates without the build-up of pressure in the grinding chamber and creates the ideal conditions for circula-tion or multi-pass operation.
For precise temperature control, the agitator mill is equipped with a multiple-zone cooling system. In the standard model, the grinding chamber, solid shaft and product outlet can be cooled to prevent product overheating. As
an option, the slotted section of the agitator shaft can be cooled as well. Complete fl ow around the slotted shaft not only increases the cooling surface area, but the effi ciency of the heat transfer as well.
Grinding chamber designs in various materials and new control concepts expand the range of applications.

The ZETA® high-speed circulation system is a grinding system that is equally appropriate for many applications ranging from processing very low-visco-sity products to grinding products with a high solids concentration and corres-pondingly high viscosity. NETZSCH-BEADS® are grinding media
Unlimited versatility
ideally suited for the ZETA® grinding system and are available in a variety of materials and sizes ranging from 0.09 mm to 3 mm in diameter. The product-wetted parts of the grin-ding system can be supplied in different materials. Depending on the application, materials such as polyurethane (PU),
ceramic, wear-resistant special steels and stainless steel are available. A pharmaceutical model of the grin-ding system is also available. The multiple-zone cooling system allows the processing of products at very low temperatures.
Standard model - in highly wear-resis-tant special steel for the processing of solvent-based products.
Ceramic model - for iron-free grinding of abrasive, contamination-sensitive solvent-based products. The product-wetted grinding chamber components are available in zirconia, silicon nitrite and silicon carbide.
Polyurethane model - all product-wetted parts are PU-coated for „iron-free“ processing of contamination-sensi-tive, water-based products.
Pharmaceutical model - the DELTAVITA® series in a polished, porosity-free stainless steel design with cleaning/sterilization unit.

Reliability and comfort
The ZETA® grinding system is in every respect a very user-friendly, low-mainte-nance and reliable grinding system. The structural design of the agitator mill has a number of advantages:The horizontal orientation ensures homo-geneous distribution of grinding media in the grinding chamber. Thus, start-up of the mill with product is unproblematic. The highest fl ow rates can be set without pressure build-up. The double-acting cartridge-type mecha-nical seal is mounted in the low-fl ow
Safe and reliable operation
grinding chamber area. The mechanical load due to grinding media is minimal. The product outlet is located directly on the grinding chamber fl oor and therefore easily accessible. The maintenance-free slotted pipe within the grinding chamber prevents the discharge of grinding media when the machine is idle. During opera-tion, the bead retention screen is kept clear of the grinding media by the rotor of the separation system, thus preventingbead compression and blockage. A displacement device in the slotted pipe
increases the fl ow speed in the outlet area and, in conjunction with short pipe-lines, prevents product entrainment. Optional cooling of the displacement device lowers the temperature of the product inside the agitator bead mill.
The optimized cleaning concept with circulation wash system allows nearly residue-free cleaning of the agitator
Cleaning made easy
bead mill with minimal cleansing agent, all without emptying the grinding chamber.
Your advantage is our focus
Horizontal design simplifi es maintenance
Homogeneous distribution of grinding media throughout the grinding chamber
No grinding bead compression
Double-acting cartridge-type mechanical seal
Easily accessible separation system
Maintenance-free slotted pipe
Easy, practically residue-free cleaning
Adjustable-speed circulation washing systems

Ergonomic design
The machine stand for the ZETA® series is of one-piece construction and is therefore very stable and vibration-free.
The feed pump is mounted directly on the machine stand, shortening distance between the pump and the grinding chamber and thus minimizing product loss.
When the grinding chamber must be opened for maintenance, the removal assembly provides an expedient moun-ting aid. Disassembly of the grinding chamber and tank bottom requires no addi-tional lifting equipment. The integ-rated service cart holds the entire bead charge and prevents loss of grinding media during maintenance.
Your advantage is our focus
Ergonomic design
Supply pump mounted on the machine stand
Short pipelines
Integrated tank removal assembly
Bead collection cart prevents loss of grinding media
Coolable rotor

Control and monitoring with no bounds
You have the choice
Whether you choose the standard version or integration into higher-level process control systems:an abundance of control options are available for the ZETA® grinding system.Providing the capability for effi cient process control with the aid of energy input detection, the standard version NETZSCH BASE already exceeds the required safety functions. The automatic
screen-cleaning sequence allows trou-ble-free processing of the most challen-ging products. Starting with the NETZSCH TEXT control system, the mill runs automatically with pre-set operating parameters.NETZSCH GRAPH offers various control strategies, the measured values are graphically associated with the test points on the display, each formula can
be automatically processed according to individual parameters. In addition, we offer integration into higher-level control systems as well as data acquisition hardware and software – just discuss with our specialists.
