We welcome our students to Grade 2Q
Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting week of learning, bondingand connecting with each other. Students are wellsettled and ready to start their journey with a lot ofzeal and zest.
The buddy system has helped the children tounderstand the school culture and their friends in abetter way.
We, the Grade 2 team along with the students havebeen involved in making essential agreements forthe class. Students also reflected on the LearnerProfile they exhibited during their vacations.
It was a pleasure to see how the childrenintrospected on their growth and what they want toachieve during this year in Grade 2 through the goalsetting activity.
We look forward to a fruitful parent teacherpartnership and a successful year ahead .

This week the students began inquiring into their first unit under the
TD Theme: How we organise ourselves
Central Idea: Food is vital for our well-being and can go through various stages before we eat it

Students:
Viewed a presentation related to the function of organization “Mambo comes to class”
Discussed and made mind maps on their observations and reflections on being organized
Recapitulated number concepts of counting, ordering, number names, odd and even of 2 digit numbers
Recapitulated sight words through a bingo activity, punctuation ( full stop and capital letters) and nouns through a person, place, animal, thing game

Swimming for Grade 2Q will be every Thursday.
Their swimming bag should have the following
items, neatly labeled:
Swimming costume/trunks
Swimming cap
Swimming goggles
Towel
Comb
On horse riding/ yoga day(Thursday) , the
children need to wear full track pants
Uniform schedule applicable from 16th August,
2016 is as follows:
Regular sports uniform- Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday
Formal uniform- Wednesday
House T-shirt- Friday
