functioning traffic lights due to loss of power or malfunction, intersections with stop lights should be
treated as four way stops.

You will find many crosswalks on Fort Eustis. Pedestrians may not always use the crosswalks provided or pay full
attention to traffic. When driving, decrease your speeds in areas where pedestrians are present. As a pedestrian, you
are required to stop at the curb, look both ways for vehicles, get the attention of an approaching vehicle
before proceeding across the road.
Marching troops have the right-of-way over all traffic except emergency vehicles. Formations will move to the
right side of the roadway in columns of no more than three abreast. Formations are prohibited on Washington Boulevard or through the traffic circle without prior
coordination and approval of the Provost Marshal. When approaching formations the speed limit is 10 MPH or less.

You are encouraged to use the picnic areas along Harrison Road located on the James River. Remember, this area is off
limit for swimming due to large debris and unexplode ordnance that may be found in the water. Additionally,
dangerous aquatic life, such as sting rays, can be found in the waters.
There are construction zones all over post. Use caution when driving in construction areas. Work vehicles entering
and exiting sites can carry loads that may throw debris onto approaching vehicles. Speeding fines in construction
