DEPRESSOR SYSTEMS
FOR DRAPING PRESTRESSING STRANDS
Draping of prestressing strands in double tee forms can be one of the most costly operations of the daily production cycle. Hamilton Form’s Top and Bottom Depressor Systems’ design has evolved over many years of experience in thisindustry. Hamilton’s Depressor Systems have been shown to provide the Prestress Concrete producer with areliable and labor-efficient method of depressing strands. Contact Hamilton Form Company for more information on applying this proven system to your new or existing forms.
CAUTION: The tensioning of prestressing strands is inherently dangerous. Use of this prestressing equipment in an improper waycould result in catastrophic failure and serious injury, death or property damage. All Producers are urged to refer to the PrecastPrestressed Concrete Institute’s “Manual for Quality Control for Plants and Production of Precast and Prestressed Concrete Products”(MNL-116) for a thorough understanding of the required safety considerations for all pretensioning operations.

Simple Operation(Not intended to be detailed operating instructions.)
1. Place beam on form in proper location.2. Attach hooks to form by tightening ratchet binders.3. Set hydraulic depressor tool over beam and lock in
place.4. Adjust telescoping depressor pins to required
length and slip through hole in beam at tool.5. Workers move off form and depressor tool is
remotely activated by Hamilton Form’s PortableHydraulic Power Unit.

Adjustable LengthTelescoping Pins:
Unique telescoping pin changes in overall length and is adjustedfor the proper depression depthprior to insertion into the depressorbeam. Top of adjustable pin ispushed down flush with top ofbeam each time and locked inplace.
Adjustable pins allow depressiondepth at any point between theminimum and maximum pinlength. Very versatile and easy touse. Solid fixed length pins arealso available.
