Introduction
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services-Division of Plant Industry (FDACS-
DPI) Cooperative Agriculture Pest Survey (CAPS) program staff was engaged in many program
activities including data entry, survey, public outreach, training and program development. Information
on each program area is detailed in this report.

counties (Baker, Bay, Duval, Franklin, Glades, Gulf, Hendry, Jackson, Liberty, Nassau, Okeechobee, Pasco, St. Johns, and
Walton). All results were negative for the target species.

DF: 298 records represent 261 positive and 4 negative moths (265 specimens submitted for analysis) from 75 traps in 25
counties. By December 31 2010, the 75 traps were reduced to 52 traps remaining in 28 counties (Alachua, Baker,
Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Collier, De Soto, Duval, Escambia, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough,
Lee, Manatee, Nassau, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie,

SWPM/Bark Beetle: 483 records represent 17,526 insects screened. All results were negative for target species
(Monochamus,Trypodendron, Xylosandrus, Hylurgops, Hylurgus) from 34 traps in 11 counties (Bay, Brevard, Broward,
Duval, Hillsborough, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Orange, Palm Beach, Seminole) during September-December 2010.

surveys were ongoing in 9 counties during this period (see Redbay ambrosia beetle (SWPM/RBAB) survey numbers above).
Three New County Records for Laurel Wilt were reported during this period: Polk County on 9-27-2010; Seminole County
on 11-1-2010; and Lake County on 12-21-2010. For Miami-Dade County only, the intensive trapping effort begun in
March 2010 continued this quarter with bi-weekly checks of 36 traps. As of December 31, 2010, no additional X. glabratus
beetles were found in Miami-Dade County.

SWPM/Sirex: 59 records represent (807 insects screened) negative screenings of Sirex from 17 traps, in 10 counties
(Bay, Brevard, Broward, Duval, Hillsborough, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Orange, Palm Beach) during September
through December 2010.

RCW: 115 records represent 350 negative moth samples from 19 traps, in 5 counties (De Soto, Lake, Miami-Dade,
Orange, Osceola) during October through December 2010. All screenings and ID's to date are negative for the target
species.

SWPM/RBAB: 177 records represent 1476 insects screened from 57 traps in 9 counties (Broward, Collier, Glades,
Hendry, Highlands, Martin, Miami-Dade, Orange, and Palm Beach) during September through December 2010. From
Miami-Dade County alone, 105 of these records represent approximately 1050 negative specimens screened from 36 traps.
All screenings and ID's to date are negative for the target species.

PCN: No 2 records represent 62 negative soil samples submitted for analysis from 2,100 acres in St. Johns County on
June 9-10, 2010. All results were negative for the two target species, Globodera pallida and Globodera rostochiensis.
Additionally, another 3,080 records representing 129,410 samples of 10 target nematode species as collected by FDACS-
DPI were entered in NAPIS for the period October 2009 through August 2010. All results were negative for the 10 target
species (Bursaphelenchus cocophilus, Globodera pallida, Globodera rostochiensis, Heterodera sacchari, Heterodera zeae,
Meloidogyne chitwoodi, Meloidogyne citri, Meloidogyne fallax, Nacobbus aberrans, and Punctodera chalcoensis).

SGS: 693 records represent 1522 total specimens collected from 9 counties, comprising: 83-visual survey specimens,
470-sweep/beat specimens, 958 light trap specimens, and 11 pitfall trap specimens. Survey data entry is complete, and all
samples were found negative for target species (resulting in 1-NCR and 1-NHR last quarter; the NHR (PPST-2010-35871,
leaf spot Drechslera tritici repentis, on wheat) was considered a pest and entered in NAPIS).

GM: 216 records represent 222 traps in 19 counties in 2009, and 183 traps in 17 counties in 2010. 3-positive moths
were found in Alachua County in 2009 and 2-positive moths were found in Suwannee County in 2010. The 19 counties
surveyed were: Alachua, Bay, Bradford, Calhoun, Columbia, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon,
