FIRMAHOLD COLLATED NAILS & FUEL CELLSDESIGNED FOR USE IN CORDLESS GAS NAILERS
2
FirmaHold collated nails and fuel cells are
designed for the fixing of a wide range of timber
applications, using various types of pneumatic and
cordless nailing tools.
FirmaHold collated nails are manufactured to conform with
EN792-13:2000 7.2.1a and comply with the requirements of all major
tool manufacturers. FirmaHold offers a comprehensive range of
sizes including, 18 gauge and 16 gauge brads and clipped head nails,
available in a choice of rust protection, including stainless steel. Offered either
with or without fuel cells, FirmaHold collated nails provide a first class
solution to a wide range of timber applications.
What is Eurocode 5? Eurocode 5 is the new regulation for Timber Structures that
replaces previous building regulations and stipulates that all nails must be manufactured
to comply with BS EN: 14592.
What is a Service Class? Within Eurocode 5, structural fasteners must comply to certain
levels of rust protection, which are graded by service classes.
Class 1: For Internal use or where the moisture content of the timber will not exceed 12%.
Fasteners conforming to Service Class 1 do not require any rust protective coatings.
Class 2: For covered exterior applications where the timber is protected from direct wetting or where
the timber moisture content does not exceed 20%. Nails conforming to Service Class 2 must have a
minimum of 12 µm of Zinc.
Class 3: External application and over 43 microns of hot dipped galvanised protection.

FirmaHold fuel cells are designed to be used with
many gas nailers without affecting performance.
• Fully synthetic oil for tool lubrication.
• High quality propellant to increase performance.
• All fuel cells are manufactured in accordance with European
regulations for consistent quality• Cleaned propane and butane gas
to reduce exhaust fumes and improve the working environment
FirmaHold fuel cells have an optimum performance date on the base of the
can which indicates the date prior to any decreasing pressure. This should
usually be at least 1 year when arriving with the distributor.
Fuel cells will react differently in colder temperatures. However, the FirmaHold fuel
cells are designed to work down to -5ºC.
VALVE INFORMATION
The different colour dosage valves omit different volumes of gas and the different length fuel cells
operate with different pressure inside.
Red Dosage Valve:For use with the longer fuel cell in framing nailers.
Yellow Dosage Valve:For use with the smaller fuel cell in finishing nailers.
The fuel cell comes with a transit cap to prevent leakage whilst in transit. This needs removing and separating from
the dosage valve. Then fit the dosage valve to the top of the fuel cell prior to use.
(see opposite page for dosage valve installation)
