FIREFIGHTER
NATURAL SMOKE AND HEATEXHAUST VENTILATOR
Safety has got a name:
FIREFIGHTER
Whenever architects, consulting
engineers, main contractors
and clients set the highest
standards, similar systems
must endure to be compared
with the performance range
of the FIREFIGHTER.
Of course this system meets
the highest demands regarding
stability, thermal and sound
insulation, wind forces,
snow loads, sealing, etc.
FIREFIGHTER BENEFITS:
 Preventive fire protection
 Day-to-day ventilation
 Natural daylight
Excellent sound insulation up to 39dB
Thermal separation in accordance with DIN 4108
 Excellent thermal insulation
Integration in combustible roof constructions complying with the
new regulations VdS 2098 and DIN 18232
FIREFIGHTER
FIREFIGHTER is available in two versions:
The DUO-version has flat top flaps whilst the DELTA-version
has top flaps at a 30° angle. Almost every combination of
insulated glass design can be installed in the thermally
separated version.
FIRE PROTECTION FOR PROFESSIONALS
FIREFIGHTER in combination with the domelight
system EUROLIGHT provides optimum natural
daylighting, improves working conditions by natural
ventilation as well as safety in the case of fire by
automatic natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation
in time.
FIREFIGHTER DELTA in coloured version with insulated glas-topflaps – fixed on upstand – on a flat roof – for fire ventilation anddaylighting in an industrial building.
FIREFIGHTER DELTA – powder – coated with Aluminium sound-insulated top flaps – fixed on upstand – on flat roof for fireventilation – on an industrial textile-plant.
FIREFIGHTER DELTA with Aluminium – sound insulated top flaps –twin version – on a theatre
FIREFIGHTER DELTA in combination with the dome-light systemEUROLIGHT with polycarbonat top flaps – on an Aircraft-hangar
FIREFIGHTER DELTA for natural smoke and heat exhaustventilation – natural ventilation and daylighting – electric controlls– on a stair well
The Firefighter is always reliable,
even when used every day,
due to the precision-engineered
castings used for all construction
details and operating parts.
A double-skinned mounting
frame ensures easy, quick and cost
effective installation.
None of the pivot hinges
require maintenance.
FIREFIGHTER ADVANTAGE BY PRECISION
All components of the frame are made from
extruded aluminium profiles of the alloy AlMgSi5.
This provides that the FIREFIGHTER is dimensionally
stable, torsion rigid and corrosion resistant. The
thermal separation according to DIN 4108 is
achieved by using extruded polyamide rods in order
to avoid condensation problems.

FIREFIGHTER DUO operation detail
Effective drainage of rainwater is
achieved by an aerodynamically
formed central rain channel.
Professional frame-tube sealing
ensures a minimum of heat loss and
high degree of sound insulation.
Direct power transmission, resistant
against wind influence, double
interlocking and stable top flaps are
important construction characteristics.

The FIREFIGHTER can be equipped with specialsound insulating top flaps, whenever a high soundinsulation is required, for example in theatres, musichalls, cinemas, etc. The top flaps are designed in asandwich construction, filled with a soundinsulation and sound absorption panelling.

OPERATION
Operation of the top flaps is achieved by
compressed air via two pneumatic cylinders,
which lock the Firefighter in its opened or
closed position. Due to optimised stable
construction-parts, Firefighter ensures high
mechanical resistance and durable
effective sealing.

CONTROL AND RELEASE
 Automatically via thermal priority valve
 Automatically via smoke detectors
 Manually via pneumatic control panel
Manually via electric remote releasethermal priority valve
TOP FLAPS OBTAINABLE
There are different versions of top flaps.
The standard versions are insulated glass,
sound and heat insulated double skinned
aluminium top flaps as well as those with
polycarbonate double skinned.
Due to the frame construction many
other special versions are possible.
FIREFIGHTER TECHNOLOGY IN DETAIL
By using glass top flaps the Firefighter
becomes a DIN-approved transparent
fire ventilation system, which meets the
demands of the fire classification
A1 – non combustible.

The natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation system FIREFIGHTERmeets the standards of preventive fire protection according to DIN18232 and VdS 2159.
Being a part of the roof it meets all the standardsregarding stability und heat as well as sound insulation.
The unit base and top flap construction is made of AlMgSi5 withintegrated thermal separation. The choice of flap inserts are either of aluminium sandwich sheets, insulated glass or polycarbonate.
The versions A33 / G33 are heat-bridge-free and condensation-water safe as according to DIN 4108.
Equipped with weatherproof profiled sealings between unit baseframe und top flaps.
The units are manufactured with an integrated rain drainagesystem. For higher safety standards the base frames and the top flaps aremanufactured from non combustible materials according to DIN4102.
The maintenance-free pneumatic cylinders have to lack in openand closed position to withstand pressures of >500 N/m2 undsuction forces of >1500 N/m2.
FIREFIGHTER SPECIFICATION
All pivot points have stainless steel bolts that are installed inmaintenance-free Teflon coated bronze bearings.
In the event of fire, by reaching a temperatur of 68 °C, forexample, the thermal priority valve initiates via a CO2 pressureampoule, the pneumatic cylinders to open the top flaps. Theequipment can be remotely activated by a central controlsystem.
The equipment is delivered on site, preassambled and qualitytested by the manufacturer, ready for installation.
The construction is connected to the metal mounting frame withburglar-proof, self tensioning connectors.
