As you receive this newsletter your sons will either be on the bus going to the golf day in Johannesburg or returning home for a well-deserved week’s holiday. The school administration will be open next week as Mr Redelinghuys settles in and the staff prepare for the end of year arrangements.

FINAL GOODBYE…CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for a busy but productive term. The weeks went by very quickly and we now enter the last quarter of 2017. The first weekend back some boys head out on Outward Bound – please ensure that the Grade 7-9 boys have all the necessary equipment when they get back to school. The other grades will be doing community service for that time and staff will be busy with the Legacy Project programmes – the last for this year.
Please note that boys return (buses) on Sunday 8 October and school starts on 9 October. The term is nine weeks long, and much time will be spent on Noёl preparation. Those parents who take their sons out regularly must please be aware that they will be required over several weekends to stay in and prepare for the Noёl Tour – all boys go on this tour, but they do need to learn the repertoire if they are to perform in any concerts.
Happy Holidays and best wishes to the DPA for the upcoming golf day.
Andrew Stead

NEWS FROM THE SPORT DEPARTMENT
DRAKIE DUATHLON
With sunshine in our hearts, we braved the miserable weather and made the most of the mud and the moment! Drakie Spirit prevailed, with staff, parents and students taking part enthusiastically. The Grade 9s cooked up a storm, literally! They excelled at the organisation, preparation and delivery of tasty food that warmed our bellies and kept us going. Some of them even took part in the race, on top of their chef duties! Many congratulations to Erika Linde and her team for a successful event!
