WeareseekingavoluntaryfieldassistanttoworkonaDurhamUniversityPhDprojectexploringthebreedingperformanceofBlueandGreatTitsinnestboxessituatedthroughouttheuniversitywoodlands.ThevolunteerwillworkwithPhDstudentClaireBranston,underthesupervisionofDr.StephenWillis.Fieldworkwillinvolvemonitoringnestboxestofollowthefatesofbirdsnestinginthemthroughoutthebreedingseason,aswellasundertakingvegetationandinvertebratesurveys.Weareseekinganenthusiasticindividual,whoiswillingtoworkforextendedperiodsinthefieldinallweathers,andpreferablywithpreviousfieldworkexperience.Thepositionprovidesagreatopportunitytoworkonavariedproject,developingvaluablefieldskillsandwouldsuitsomeonewithaninterestingainingbiologicalresearchexperienceperhapspriortopost-graduatestudies.Aspartofthepositionaccommodationwillbeprovided(selfcateredsingleroom)withinHatfieldCollege,Durham.ThepositionwillrunfromApriluntilJune2017,andapplicantsneedtobewillingtojointheprojectforthisentireperiod.Ifyouareinterestedinthisrole,orwouldlikemoreinformation,pleasee-mailClaireBranstonc.j.branston@durham.ac.ukbefore20thMarch2017,includingashortCVanddetailinganypreviousrelevantexperience.
