FASHION DESIGN is the art of the application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories.
It is influenced by cultural and social attitudes, and has varied over time and place.
Fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories. Some work alone or as part of a team.
WHY FASHION DESIGN?
Indian economy is expected to grow at 6% or more for 10 years & would attract more investments from global brands and retailers.
The country's clothing and textile industry is poised to be more competitive, there would be diversification of product mix creating new opportunities for designers & exporters.
Till 2015 economists predict that the industry will be driven by manufacturing excellence, supply chain efficiency & a range of product mix. By 2015, the industry is expected to be product, brand, and process driven.
Consequently, the apparel industry will have far reaching implications among manufacturers, retailers & designers.
