About this presentation
This presentation contains screenshots of specific points in my piece that I feel will allow me to be fully evaluative.
I will be answering the following evaluation questions on each slide (were appropriate):
• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
• How does your media product represent particular social groups?• How did you attract/address your audience?• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Violence is a common convention in action-thriller films
This shot does not represent any social groups in a particular way
An audience enjoys watching violence on screen, and as this shot shows, it will keep them attracted to the piece
Another common convention, handheld camera, is shown to be used in our piece here. This makes an audience uneasy and confused. It also portrays the dangerous situation very well
This shot may portray the stereotypical drug abuser as a negative input on society
This shot would attract an audience as questions are asked about the protagonists past, how he was tortured
Flash-backs are sometimes used in films, but it is a convention that a flash of a certain colour appears on screen to allow the audience to recognise that a flash-back is occurring
This shot does not represent any social groups in a particular way
This would attract an audience as it feeds them more storyline and gives them insight into the protagonists story
This excites the audience the main chase has begun, creating an exhilarating moment for a viewer
The antagonist is wearing dark clothes to represent that he is evil. These connotations are quite a common convention in films
The stereotypical “yob” may be represented her in a certain sense. They would be represented in a negative way due to the negativity that is perceived from the antagonist
Special effects are a common convention in most films. This specific form was post production effects, in which we later added the effects seen on screen. It shows a quite grotesque action for our protagonist to be a part of
This little section of the piece shows my ability to use 3D modelling software and integrate it in with editing, a media technology that is recognised in the industry
This shot attracted an audience as the 3D modelling from a foundation piece has shown to be unexpected yet dazzling at the same time. It also gives insight into the past of our protagonist, which is something that our audience always want
Special effects are a common convention in most films. This specific form was post production effects, in which we later added the effects seen on screen
I have learned how to use “Adobe After effects” here. I have shown that my self taught techniques can allow the task to be completed with dazzling special effects
This is the key moment in the piece, and so the build up so far would lead to this being a dramatic end to the piece. This has shown, from audience feedback, to be a well recognised and appreciated section that attracted the audience well
