families. Without your support, this yearbook would not be possible! Thanks to those who have purchased ad space or have already ordered a yearbook! If you're not sure if you have ordered a book, send me an e-mail and I can check my list of orders. Thanks, Suzanne Godard ([email protected], or 436-2354) Change of Dates for Kindergarten Students

STRIVE, which is an acronym for Self Taught Real-world Independent Valuable Experience, is a new multidisciplinary, student-centered project-based learning environment that was launched at the school for our Grade 9-12 students during the 2018-19 school year!

Elm Creek School Parent Advisory Council
Activity Report 2018-2019
Our PAC committee was small this year, but we
managed to accomplish a number of projects that
helped make a big impact at our school!
Thanks to your support of the Peak of the Market
vegetable fundraiser, we were able to donate almost
$2000 worth of items to our classrooms by fulfilling
wish list items for the teachers. We also helped to
support our awesome Hot Lunch Program by
purchasing a second stove for the canteen.
We hosted our first ever pancake breakfast in
December to help raise awareness and funds for the
school’s Helping Hand Fund, and UNESCO’s drive
for the Carman and Area Christmas Cheer Board.
This year we increased funding to classroom field
trips to help battle increasing costs. We also
financially supported a number of student
presentations which were held at the school. We
supplied milk and cookies to staff and students to
wrap up I Love to Read Month. We brought in
meals for our teachers during the spring and fall
student-led conferences. We continue to provide an
award to a graduating member of the Grade 12 class
which will be presented later this month!
A big THANK YOU also to the Elm Creek Co-op
for their support through our equity number which
provides us with the funds to make so many of these
projects possible.
If you’re interested in learning more about PAC and
how you can get involved in the fall, please contact
President Jason Dyck, or watch for our fall annual
general meeting date to be announced and plan to
attend!

“Mamma Mia! Here we go again!” with another Fine
Arts Night at the Elm Creek School! Students from the
Grades 7 to 9 art class displayed various pieces of art
ranging from paintings to sketches to sculptures to
hand-sewn fantasy creatures. After months of
