What are Characters?A character is the person or thing portrayed in a story. This could be anything from a princess to a talking teapot.
Example: In The Three Little Pigs, the characters would b be be the pigs and the wolf.

What is a Main Character?This is the character who the story is about. Who is seen the most throughout a story?

What is the Setting of a Story?The setting is the location and time which a story takes place.

The plot of a story is a sequence of events that make up the main idea of a story.

ConflictThis is the problem in a story. The conflict usually gives the story meaning.
In The Three Little Pigs, the conflict is the wolf trying to gobble us up!

Rising ActionThe rising action can usually be found in the beginning or middle of a story. This is where the main character begins looking for a way to fix the conflict.
In The Three Little Pigs, the rising action would be my brothers and I building our houses out of brick, straw and sticks to keep the Big Bad Wolf from eating us up!

Climax
The climax is the turning point of the story.
Example: In The Three Little Pigs, the climax would be when the Wolf gives up trying to blow down the brick house and tries to go down the chimney instead.

Resolution
The resolution is the conclusion to the story.
In The Three Little Pigs, the resolution would be when I run back into the forest and leave the pigs alone.
