Our mission at The Durham Woodworking
Club is to promote the skill and craft of
woodworking in all facets, through
education, information and fellowship.
Meet fellow woodworking enthusiasts in
the Durham Region, experienced in a wide
range of woodworking specialities.
The Durham Woodworking Club is located
in the annex of the Simcoe Street United
Church in Oshawa, Ontario.
The club meets every Monday night,
September to June, start time is 6:30 pm
sharp.
Guests are welcome to visit the club and
tour our facility, as well as, to meet our
members.
Meetings regularly include guest speakers,
project show & tell, tips & jigs, safety
pointers, tool instruction and much more,
covering both woodworking and non-
woodworking topics.
Our members specialize in a wide range of woodworking skills, such as:
Turning
Scroll sawing
Cabinet making
Chip carving Members have access to a well-equipped and fully functional work shop. Tools include:
Table saw
Band saws
Scroll saws
Lathes
Jointer & Planer
An extensive library of woodworking books, DVD’s & magazines
As well as, an assortment of portable power tools
Members actively support local community functions, such as;
Pens for Peacekeepers
Wig stands for cancer patents
Kub Kars for cubs and scouts
Ladies classes We also offer specialized group instructional seminars & classes,
Turning a pen on a lathe
Chip carving a keepsake box
Turning 101 classes (lathe)
Marquetry Class Annual membership dues are $60 per year
(January to December), with a one-time $10
initiation fee for new members.
