Parent Engagement Tracker (P.E.T)Framework & Standards for Data Tracking
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGN IN SHEET
Use of Sign-In Sheet (see attached). Please complete the sign-in sheet prior to submitting
to the staff who enter the data into parent engagement tracker.
1. Header: Insert name of activity to identify what the topic is.
a. For example, ELA: In-Class Reading Support
2. Facilitator: Insert name of person(s) and/or people conducting activity in-case there
are questions from the front liner who is entering data. For example, Teacher Name, Staff
Name, etc.
3. Place/Room: Insert location of activity – this will assist with facilitation of activities
4. Description (IMPORTANT): Be clear about describing what is happening at the
activity. For example. Focus to support literacy via 20 minute group reading session.
5. Activities Type: Identify type of activity.
Event = targeted at large group functions or touchpoints with families
Volunteer = providing in-kind hours without payment
Training/Workshop = providing home-school connection opportunities to learn skills
ie. Providing a newsletter to parents highlighting ways families can assist with
classroom instructional support;
Committee = participating in on committee’s to support academic success ie. PTO
Board Meetings, School-Governance Council’s, Family Engagement Committees, etc.

Since July 1, 2017:
5,861 downloads and parents/students have accessed the app close to 90,000 times
5,546 messages sent to families, with 77% successfully delivered (on average)
89% of our parent/guardians have a cell number in the system set up to receive texts
● Contact information for students, parents, and staff imports nightly
● Messages can be sent to individuals or groups (ie: by school, grade level, class, bus route, etc.)
● User-friendly system

The high school provides a “Raider Block” Advisory several times per week
Same mentor/teacher for the time in high school
Guest speakers from various professions come into the high school during Raider Block
JOB SHADOWINGJob Shadowing can be the first step into a hosted Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO)
Allows for our students to witness real-life work in action
Opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional
May ignite a student’s interest to further his/her exploration of the career for their own future

PATHWAYS AT THE HIGH SCHOOLThe Pathways program at the high school is a new addition to our programming. Students 9-12 can choose a career path from three careers pathway clusters:➢ Arts, Communications, Advanced Technology (ACT);➢ Science, Technology, Engineering , Math (STEM); or➢ Liberal Arts
PATHWAYS AND PARTNERSHIPS ADVISORY BOARD (PPAB)
Instrumental in the development of the Pathways Clusters
Advisory Board includes teachers, parents, students, administration, co-facilitators of Pathways, and Community business partners
