JAGTIAL DISTRICT
Introduction:
Jagtial is one of the district situated is Northern part of Telangana State endowed with
rich natural resources for agriculture. The district has made rapid strides in agricultural
production since establishment of SRSP.
INDUSTRIAL SCENARIO:
There is one Medium scale industry Sri Laxmi Narsimha Oils Pvt.lt at Medipalli(M) and one
Large scale industry namely Nijam Deccan Sugar in the district ( both the industries are closed for
different reasons). The important industrial units in small scale sector are Cotton Ginning, Cold
storages, Rice mills and Stone Crushers.

Crops:
The principal crops grown in the district are Paddy, Maize, Cotton, Pulses, Soyabean
and Turmeric. The district is a major rice producer where two crops of rice was taken up.
Groundnut is the main oil seed crop. Other important crops grown in the district are
Soyabean, Redgram, Blackgram, Greengram, Bengalgram, Cowpea and Sesamum.
Major Horticulture crops grown in the District are Mango, Turmeric and Vegetables
Climate:
The District has tropical climate the seasons in Jagtial district are
1. South – west monsoon ; June to September extending upto October
2. Winter: November to February
3. Hot Summer: March to May
Rainfall:
The rain fall received in Jagtial district during south west monsoon period was 959.68
mm as against the normal of 846.83 mm i.e +14% deviation; But 3 consecutive dry spell
periods experienced in Jagtial, Sarangapur of Jagtial Sub division; Gollpally, Velgatur of
Dharmapuri Sub division: Korutla, Metpalli, Kathalapur of Korutla Sub Division; 4 consecutive
dry spell periods experienced in Mallial of Jagtial sub division; 5 consecutive dry spell periods
experienced in Raikal, Kodimial of Jagtial sub division; Dharmapuri, Pegadapalli of Dharmapuri
sub division and Medipalli of Korutla Sub division.
Mineral Resource:
Jagithyal is enriched with minerals like Multi Colour Granite useful for
decorative purpose, stone & metal useful for building and road constructions and
also sand, morrum, bricks useful for house construction purpose.
Multi Colour Granite available in the district is quarried by various private lease
holders and is being marketed under the trade names of “Tan Brown, Maple Red,
Sapphire Brown, Coffee Brown, Royal Red” Building Stone & Road Metal is also
quarried from grey granite hillocks and also from Sand Stone formation which is
useful for civil construction works of Government and Private works.
The main activity of minerals is found in Jagithyal, Raikal, Sarangapur, Beerpur,
Dharmapuri, Buggaram, Pegadapally, Gollapally, Mallyal, Kodimyal, Velgatoor,
Korutla, Metpally, Mallapur, Ibrahimpatnam, Medipally, Kathalapur Mandals. In
Jagithyal, Pegadapally, Gollapally, Malyal Mandals Granite quarry leases are
located. Around Velgatoor, Buggaram, Kodimyal, Korutla some Stone & Metal
quarry leases and stone crushers are located.

1. Establishment of Autonagar at Dharoor(V) & Narsingapur(V), Jagtial(M), Jagtial District:
An extent of 34.09 Acres pertaining to SRSP Project lands for establishment of Autonagar proposed at
Dharoor & Narsingapur Villages.
2.Establishment of Industrial Park at Sthambampalli(V), Velgatur(M), Jagtial District:
An extent of 201.31 Acres of Govt. land, 27.35 Acres of Assigned land and 20.14 Acres of Patta lands
totaling to 250.00 Acres situated at Sthambampalli(V), Velgatur(M), Jagtial district has been identified for
establishment of Industrial Park.
3.Establishment of Mega Food Park:
