The geometry and characteristics of Diesel enginecomponents are more dependent upon the applicationthan those for gasoline engines. A single injector de-sign will not fit all Diesel engines due to varying me-chanical and nozzle geometry requirements. In addi-tion, the injection system can vary from year to yeareven within the same make of car.Bosch Motorsport uses the same Common Rail tech-nology for racing that was developed for productionvehicle applications. This includes both solenoid (mag-netic) technology and the latest cutting-edge piezotechnology.Bosch Motorsport can offer a wide variety of modifica-tions to fit the system to your specifications. Thesemodifications include:

• Definition of suitable base components from other (orlarger) engine applications.

• Adaptation of components for mating, fit and orienta-tion to suit the selected application.

• Flow enhancement of injectors and rails.• Injector nozzle adaptation (flow rate, number of

holes, spray cone angle etc.).Our goal is to offer the best balance of cost and per-formance for your application. This is why we offer dif-ferent levels of modifications to choose from. Below isan example of the different levels for a 4-cylinder en-gine with 4 injectors, 1 high pressure pump and a sin-gle fuel rail:

Installation Notes

When contacting us for more information on our Dieselcomponents, please have the following informationready so that we may best determine components re-quired for your application:

• The base engine / the car where this engine originallyis installed

• Model year and type of car / engine• The base output level and the desired output level for

the engine• If it is originally equipped with Bosch components:

the part numbers of the Bosch components• Alternatively the car / engine manufacturer part num-

ber of the original injection system.

NoticeIf your engine is originally equipped with Boschcomponents, modifications will be easier than re-placing third party components.

NoticeWe reserve the right to assess a fee for applica-tions where the component specification requiresan extraordinary amount of time.
