ANNEXURE
The University of Mysore‟s one of the PG Centre-Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre at
Chamarajanagar -- is but 10 years old. Within this short span it has shown considerable
development. At the very outset the Centre express its indebtedness to those who have supported
materially and morally for its growth till now.
The Centre opened in the academic year 2010-11, offered with 3 courses: M.Com, MBA
and MSW. Initially it had the name “Satellite Post Graduate Centre”, and then it was renamed
as “Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre” in the year 2015.
University of Mysore deputed me as a Director of this PG Centre on 01.02.2012 to
development. Initially the Centre opened in the academic year 2010-11, offered with 3 courses:
M.Com, MBA and MSW. I started two new Courses every year, by the end of 2 years from its
start, 2013-14, it grew to include the departments of English, Economics and Journalism, in the
year 2014-15 the department of M.Sc Mathematics was included, in the year 2015-16 M.A
Political Science and Kannada departments were added, in the year 2016-17 M.Sc Computer
Science and MLISc, and the Centre has further expanded to include the Department of M.Sc
Chemistry and Physics for the academic year 2019-20. At present the Centre has running 10
Courses. Around 55 faculties, 2 visiting professors and 31 non-teaching staffs are working in this
Centre. The total number of students in the PG Centre is over 450 now.

Each of the departments mentioned has its full quota of students, including those from
the „B‟ Scheme. The Centre is proud to note that many who sought admission chose this
Institution as their first preference, despite the PG Courses being available in various institutes in
Mysore and elsewhere. It is also encouraging to note that the results of students from this Centre
compares favorably with the results of students from Manasagangothri (Mysore),
Hemaganothri(Hassan), and Visveswaraiah PG Centre (Mandya). Many after passing out from
here have successfully cleared their SLET/NET/KEA/ BANKING exams. And even some of our
students have gained Gold Medal and Cash Prizes every year. Our Students are excelled and
occupied majority of the responsible position. I kindly note that I Prof.Shivabasavaiah, Director
of the Centre is the only permanent employee, looking all academic activities and overall
administration and development of the Centre.
I am also submitted to proposal to State Govt for separate 54.3 acres land. And the
Government of Karnataka sanctioned 9 crores, nearly 3 crores from UGC, 7 crores for
University. Around 20 crores rupees - Administrative Block and Hostel buildings was ready
within 2 years with sufficient infrastructure like rooms and other facilities.
Recently we are shifted to (Aug-2017) our own new campus building. The interesting
factor is we have done all this only with guest faculty on temporary basis being the Director I am
the only person permanent position with deputation form the zoology department.
Recently another project/proposal submitted to State Govt. to have separate Science
Block for Rs.7.5 Crores, but the Karnataka State Govt. sanctioned 5 crores for the construction
of Science Block. And I am also request to Social Welfare Department to sanction one SC/ST
and one OBC Hostel for 3 courses each. In addition to this, the Department of Social Welfare
sanctioned 6 crores, for SC/ST and 3 Crores for OBC. Construction is yet to start.
