About the Department Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering at Global
Academy of Technology came into existence
in 2001. The primary objective of the
department has been to impart quality
technical education to the students. Currently
the department has strength of 756 students
guided by a team of 35 devoted and diligent
staff members. The department is proud of
the quality, need-based and practical
education imparted to students which aids to
face the challenges of the fast changing
corporate and technical world. To keep in
pace with the current technological
advancements, in addition to the University
curriculum additional tutorials, tech-talks,
workshops are frequently held so that the
students get a feel of what exactly is
happening outside in the tech-world.

Program Educational Objectives [PEOs]
Graduates in Electronics and Communication Engineering will be able to:
PEO1: Acquire technical knowledge of fundamentals of basic sciences, electronics and communication
Engineering and applied mathematics for the rapid changes in technology.
PEO2: Analyse, design, apply, evaluate and solve complex problems in technology and management
through engineering skills

Graduates of the Electronics and Communication Engineering UG degree program will be able to,
PSO1: Analyze, design and implement emerging electronics and communication systems using devices,
subsystems and networking.

Bachelor’s Engineering Graduates will be able to:
Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an
engineering
Specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems
reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system
components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and
safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods
including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide
valid conclusions.
Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and
IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the
limitations.
The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety,
legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and
environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the
engineering practice.
Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams,
and in multidisciplinary settings.
Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and
with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make

The department is proud of the quality, need-based and practical education imparted to students which aids to face the challenges of the fast changing corporate and technical world. With dedicated faculty and excellent coaching in both theory and practical aspects we groom our students in all necessary aspects of engineering. The laboratories are supervised by qualified technical support staff. Equipment in the various laboratories trains the students to expose practical knowledge and illustrate the most important concepts in Electronics and Communication Engineering. To keep in pace with the current technological advancements, department faculties are doing their research in the advanced area like Signal Processing, IoT, Embedded Systems, VLSI, Nanotechnology and Digital Communication.

Department has recognized research Centre by the VTU .Many faculty members from different Engineering colleges of Karnataka have registered and are pursuing their PhD in ECE .Many faculty who are working with ECE department are also pursuing their PhD program .A few Students of ECE department are involved in research projects along with faculty members. This has motivated the students towards innovative thoughts and new creation .To facilitate the above said activity for both student and faculty department has very good infrastructure in hardware and software laboratories.

Ms. Bhavya T M secured Gold Medal with new meet record in VTU Power Lifting Championship 2018 held at Sahyadri College
of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru on 28th & 29th September 2018.
Ms. Sindhu G represented Karnataka Netball Team in 12th South Zone National Netball Championship 2018 as
a Vice Captain held at Thrisur, Kerala from 19th to 21st November 2018 and team bagged Runners up.
Sindhu G & Akansha Vallal particiapted in the VTU Single Zone Netball Chamionship
2018 held at KNSIT, Bengaluru on 9th & 10th November 2018 and team emerged as winners.
Sindhu G & Akansha Vallal participated in the Dasara Sports held at Mysuru,
organized by Karnataka State Govt. from 12th to 16th October 2018.
Harshith G participated in VTU Bangalore Zone and Inter Zone Hand Ball Tournament 2018 held at Saptagiri College of Engineering, Bengaluru on 16th & 17th March 2018 and team secured Runner up in both Bengaluru South & Inter Zone.
