Inrush Current Reduction Module: ICRM
Applications where a PWM-type voltage regulator is powered by a PMG or a Station Bus, it is highly recommended to install an Inrush Current Reduction Module to minimize the amount of inrush current flow.
The ICRM (included on all MP-DECS-200 standard mounting plates) prevents damage to a protected voltage regulator during power-up by limiting inrush current to a safe level. Without inrush protection, the inrush current is limited only by the level of the power

Devices with a pulse-width modulated (PWM) power stage are especially vulnerable to high inrush current due to a large amount of capacitance inherent to the design. Shunt-powered voltage regulators as well as those that use SCR-type power stages do not usually require the protection of an ICRM.

RETROFIT SOLUTIONS FOR MINIMUM DOWNTIMEIMPROVE YOUR DECS-125-15 OPERATION PERFORMANCE WITH A DECS-200 RETROFIT SOLUTION.
DECS-125-15 has proven its efficiency and reliability through thousands of applications operating around the world. Basler Electric has designed a new mounting plate using the latest technology to replace your obsolete DECS-125-15. Our target: save you time and money. The installation of your retrofit mounting plate does not require electrical or mechanical modifications since it has the same connections (including droop and cross-current compensation on the same input) and footprint as the previous one. Plug it and play: you are done.

Control modes.
If a loss of sensing condition is detected, the DECS-200 mounting plate will act as a back-up source of regulation until repairs can be made. The DECS-125-15 provided this type of field current regulation only during test and commissioning. Moreover, the DECS-200 solution allows for minimum voltage variation on the generator output when switching between modes thanks to its ability to track the active mode by all non-active ones.
Protective and limiting functions.
Added protective features provide a reliable protection back-up source to your existing relaying scheme and contribute to the preservation of your generator’s integrity.
Extra limiting functions enable easier field commissioning by eliminating the need to modify generator limiters’ settings and protects the generator stator from overheating.
