Hot Cider and Strad around the tree
We are pleased to announce that, once again this year, the
Library will be serving hot spiced apple cider every
morning before school during the last week of classes.
Strad will join us for performances around the tree
on Monday and Friday morning - with a very special
guest appearance by Ms. Chrisman.
Start your day off the right way with some music in the morning. Bring your own reusable mug and your
holiday cheer.

IT’S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE...Christmas. Hannukah. Kwaanza. Winter!!!
With the fresh fall of snow earlier this week, it’s time to start thinking about
choosing your Holiday Reads. Check the display of books in the showcase outside the
Library. Do also come in to check out the “New Books” displays on the upper level.
Be sure to also fill out your Holiday Reads 2014 entry forms. Tell us about your
most favourite ever Winter Read, or, about the books you are planning on curling up
and reading this holiday break. Be entered to win a free book to take home and enjoy.
Book winners will be drawn during the announcements on Thursday December 18th.
Stay tuned for the announcement of this year’s Canada Reads titles. Titles will be
announced on January 20th. Unfortunately, this year, Canada Reads itself coincides
with our March Break. We had been hoping to organise a field trip to one of the
tapings - I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed myself - but alas it is not to be.
We’re looking forward to the launch of our White Pine reading programme after
the Holiday Break. This year promises to be like none before here at ESA. Grade 9
students with Mr. Middel, one of our new English
teachers, are going to be participating in White Pine
reading circles. This will bring additional interest and
exposure to our programme. We’re looking forward
to great discussions and taking lots of students to the
Festival of Trees at Harbourfront in May, 2015.
