CURRENT FOCUS
Reliability - 4K
Reliability I absolutely think that reliability means being a trustworthy and
honest person e.g. If you break something that’s not yours and you blame it on someone else that’s not reliability. But if
you tell the truth that you did break it and try your best to replace it, with something similar that’s reliability.
William Boskov
What is Reliability?
To be Reliable, you need to be honest and trustworthy. You have to respect people for who they are and help them be
better people. If you borrow something you give it back how you got it and if something happens to it you tell the owner
what happened and try to make up for it. Also acting responsible helps people trust you. ACTIONS SPEAK
LOUDER THAN WORDS! Maddisyn Tsaptsalis
Reliability is being trustworthy, respecting other people’s properties and when you borrow something make sure you give it back the way you got it. By being honest people can rely on you for being organised and responsible. When you show reliability you can be responsible eg. If someone asks you to bring an important note to the office then you must bring it up straight away. And don’t share secrets that someone said not to eg. If your friend tells you something secret don’t tell anyone, just keep it to yourself then they will rely on you
Lila Paar
Reliability is being able to rely on your friends and trust that they will look after your things. Reliability is also about being organised and being a honest person who can keep secrets no matter who it is. For example I once lent my friend my favourite book, I was really worried about how they would treat it, and I got it back in perfect condition. Actions speak louder than words.
Rosie Timcke-Wallwork
*RELIABILITY*
Reliability is being trustworthy and being a honest person. By acting responsible allows people to trust you. If you’re not
trustworthy your friends can't trust you. A quote is treat people the way you would like to be treated. An old saying is 'Actions
speak louder than words'. If you feel upset or sick, you can find a friend and talk to them about it because you know they
will understand. Kiah Bull

Well done to all the families that got involved in the Swiss
Italian Festa activities over the past week. Congratulations to
our Specialist staff who have supported drawing, mask
making, lantern making, the parade banners & singing and
dancing. Well done Trudi, Nicole, Katie & Suzanne. Thanks
also goes out to Deb at Yandoit for enabling the involvement
of our Yandoit students. A number of other staff also
supported the day. What a team effort!
Our Junior Choir were joined by 1W to repeat their
performance of ‘Season Song’ at our assembly this week.
This was a special moment.
A huge thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers
especially Karen McColl & Karen Walker who put the Swiss
Italian Festa Sausage sizzle together. A full report follows.
The excellent result of over $1000 raised has been tagged to
support the Swiss Italian resources. An example of this is
more puppets will be made in 2017.
State Athletics success! We are so very proud of our seven
students who competed in Melbourne at the State Athletic
Finals. Thank you to the parents who supported the children,
a big commitment and a long day. Results; Sebastian 2nd

Congratulations to Sebastian who has now been selected in
the Victorian Team due to his success in the 200m.
At assembly this week, I took the time to recognise all of our
dedicated staff, as a part of World Teacher Day. The United
Nations' (UN) World Teachers' Day celebrates the role
teachers play in providing quality education at all levels. This
enables children and adults of all ages to learn to take part in
and contribute to their local community and global society.
We are indeed very fortunate to have a collection of
passionate staff assembled at all three schools who work
tirelessly everyday to bring about a quality education for our
students. I know that the staff make a difference in the lives
of their students. For that I say well done and thank you.
Each staff member was presented a small token of
appreciation, a badge with the caption ‘expecting the best,
producing success’.
I would like to remind our grade 5/6 students of the
upcoming Numeracy Day at DSC next Wednesday 2nd
November. Also remember that Tuesday 1st
November is
Melbourne Cup Holiday.
Finally, I would like to announce that Mr Garner has
sucessfully gained a promotion to Phoenix P-12 Community
College in Ballarat. He will be starting there next year, so we
will bid Mr Garner farewell at the end of the year. His
contribution at DPS, Drummond PS & Yandoit PS over the
past three years has been very positive and he will be sadly
missed. I congratulate Mr Garner and wish him all the best in
the future.
