Current Builders (CB) has been serving the Florida market for over 40 years, specializing in multifamily residential,
commercial, industrial, senior living, tenant improvements and renovations. CB always strives to extend our market reach, recently adding retail and student housing to our
portfolio.
Many Current Builders employees have served at CB for a decade or more, demonstrating the stability of our company
in an ever changing market. Combined with improvements to our Project Management Systems and the adoption and execution of Virtual Design and Construction processes
utilizing Building Information Modeling technologies, CB is a proven experienced leader in construction.
Not just a Construction Management firm, CB offers in-house structural capabilities, with crews that specialize in tunnel
form construction, as well as all shell construction methods. This offers a unique service to our clients, allowing
us to identify the best structure with the most economical cost for any project.
Self Performed Structures
Self-Performed Structures includes tunnel form, conventional forming systems supported by reinforced masonry,
post-tensioned slabs supported by flying forms, tilt-up construction and precast joist assemblies. Current Builders
performs these operations as CB Structures.
With over 40 years’ experience in self-performing concrete structures, CB understands the advantages of the systems that an Owner, Architect or Engineer may be considering.
With over 20 million square feet of structures performed, CB has the knowledge base to design - or assist in the design - the most cost-effective and sustainable structure to meet
each project’s specifications.
Building Information Modeling
CB was a pioneer on the adoption of BIM by General Contractors back in 2007, realizing that our proactive
measures to reduce costs and time on a project were vital to our continued success in the industry. Our Virtual Design
and Construction (VDC) department utilizes Building Information Technology (BIM) to coordinate the drawings, find and resolve conflicts and produce construction drawings that will help fast track construction in the field. We include VDC and BIM on all of our projects, working with the Design Team
to produce the drawings in Autodesk Revit.
The fully coordinated building information model includes all specified components; every aspect of the model is based
on reality from the walls and doors to the washer/dryer units and fixtures. CB then produces layout drawings for the
subcontractors who provide input on placement for their components during the development of the model. CB brings
the model to the field via BIM 360 Glue, an Autodesk application for iPads. This allows Superintendents and
Project Managers to view the project via a three-dimensional view, making it easier to communicate changes or to work
through issues with subcontractors or clients.
Preconstruction Services
CB Constructors, Inc. preconstruction department provides assistance during the preliminary and design phase by
providing input on constructability and cost impact. We bring in the key subcontractors early to provide input on the project design, working closely with the design team to provide value
engineering and constructability input while producing the final construction documents. By introducing the
subcontractors early we avoid any unknown costs due to the inherent issues that come up with the design coordination
process.
Many of our clients prefer early contractor/subcontractor involvement. The advantages include earlier GMP prior to
completion of the design, collaboration between the Owner and CB Constructors, Inc. to select subcontractors on a best value basis, minimizing exposure to contractor claims over design and constructability issues, a stronger relationship
due to early team building between stakeholders and allowing early Building Information Modeling to take place
enhancing the constructability of the project and advancing coordination issues, thus reducing cost and time.
Collaborative Technologies
Current Builders believes the best way to serve our clients is to have the best technologies in place to ensure we manage
projects efficiently, delivering them on time, at the quality expected.
All project management is managed through our CB SharePoint portal, which our clients and other stakeholders
can access to obtain the most up to date information.
All field personnel have iPads which utilize Autodesk BIM 360 Field and BIM 360 Glue. Through Field, all project
documents from plans and specifications to submittals and RFIs are available for reference at any time. Glue brings the
Building Information Model to the field, allowing superintendents to see the building in 3D with all elements
to check placement and resolve conflicts.
Safety & Quality Control
Quality Control is a team effort and is held to the highest standard throughout construction. CB Constructors, Inc.
utilizes Autodesk BIM 360 Field which allows the office staff to make all important project documents easily accessible by the field using an iPad. All Superintendents will have all project and field drawings, specifications, submittals and answers for Requests for Information at their fingertips to
ensure all subcontractors build a quality project for the client.
Our Director of Quality Control and Safety performs site visits to inspect the project focusing on quality and safety issues.
The Superintendents also perform inspections daily to confirm the project is being built to the highest standard and
the field crews are working safely.
Our comprehensive Safety First Program includes, but is not limited to:
• A full time Director of Risk Management on staff to monitor and direct our comprehensive occupational safety program and oversee our QC/QA program and personnel
• Weekly safety meetings for all contractors and subcontractors• A drug-free workplace • Recurrent safety training for all employees • White Level OSHA Strategic Partnership Program (OSPP) in Safety
with the AGC to keep us at the forefront of leading-edge construc-tion safety performance
