GREETING & INTRODUCTIONS SONG Goodness of God
CONFESSION OF SINS P: Confess with me. C: Merciful Father in heaven, I am altogether sinful from birth. In countless ways I have sinned against you and
do not deserve to be called your child. But trusting in Jesus, my Savior, I pray: Have mercy on me according to your unfailing love. Cleanse me from my sin, and take away my guilt.
ABSOLUTION SONG I Can Be Still
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SERVICE
I love You, Lord For Your mercy never failed me
All my days, I've been held in Your hands From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night You are close like no other I've known You as a Father I've known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God.
And all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now I give You everything
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me.
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now I give You everything
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me.
And all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able Oh, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able

I can be still, I can let go I can find peace in taking it slow
You know my path, it’s under control Oh, I can be still
I can stand tall, I can hold on The weight of this life is making me strong I’m shaking within and crying “How long?”
Oh, I can stand tall
You know my name You know the longing of my heart
You know my needs You said my life is set apart
You promised to hear When I call on you, you won’t turn away
You’ll answer my cry You are God, Almighty Father, strong to save
No small thing is beneath your love
There is no pain that can’t be shaken So I will pray with desperation
I need you, God and I won’t relent I won’t let go until you bless me
I won’t accept anything less, Oh
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven
For you are good So I will trust your plan unending
But I won’t back down
Even when I don’t know what to say I won’t be afraid
You’re the one who gives, the one who takes away
No small thing is beneath your love There is no pain that can’t be shaken
So I will pray with desperation I need you, God and I won’t relent
I won’t let go until you bless me I won’t accept anything less, Oh
So I will be patient, I will take heart
I will sing praises, praises in the dark When I am empty, your grace overflows
You wrap me in mercy, you’ll never let me go
So I will be patient, I will take heart I will sing praises, praises in the dark
When I am empty, your grace overflows You wrap me in mercy, you’ll never let me go
You’ll never let me go
3
I will build my life upon Your love It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone And I will not be shaken
Holy, there is no one like You There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder And show me who You are And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

GOSPEL LESSON Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23 (Pew Bible pg. 1516)
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, be-cause the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” ... “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (NIV)
APOSTLES’ CREED C: I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
SONG Build My Life
FIRST LESSON Isaiah 55:10-11 (Pew Bible pg. 1149)
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (NIV)
SECOND LESSON Romans 8:18-25 (Pew Bible pg. 1757)
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (NIV)
Worthy of every song we could ever sing Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe We live for You, we live for you
Jesus, the Name above every other name Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe We live for You
Oh, we live for You
Holy, there is no one like You There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder And show me who You are And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
Jesus, the Name above every other name Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe We live for You, Oh, we live for You
Holy, there is no one like You
There is none beside You Open up my eyes in wonder And show me who You are And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
And I will build my life upon Your love It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone And I will not be shaken

I know that it’s good for me To fight through this agony
So my prayer is for you to be Here with me, here with me Here with me, here with me
I can rise up, I can endure
My strength is in you and the battle is Yours Even when life is shaking my core
Oh, I can rise up
I know that it’s good for me To fight through this agony
So my prayer is for you to be Here with me, here with me Here with me, here with me
You are my firm foundation I will be struck not shaken
You’re the Rock on which I stand And now the waves are breaking
And the winds are raging I will cling to You alone
You are my firm foundation I will be struck not shaken
You’re the Rock on which I stand And now the waves are breaking
And the winds are raging I will cling to You alone
