Climate‐KIC is Europe’s largest public‐private innovation partnership, working together to address the challenge of climate change. We drive innovation in climate change through creative partnerships large and small, local and global, between the private,
public and academic sectors.

Climate‐KIC – the first 4 years
• 2009:One of the first three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs)
selected by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology(EIT) following open competition
• 2010:Climate‐KIC starts its activities with around 15‐20 partners– academic, corporate and regions ‐ and a budget of €6m from the EIT
• 2013:end of first 4‐year period with budget of €45m from EIT
• 2014:start of 7‐year framework provided by Horizon 2020 withmore than 200 partners and a budget of just over €75m from EIT
