1. YoumayhavetobearesidentofNSWandholdaNSWdriversorriderslicence.

2. ThevehicletoberegisteredonCVSmustbegaragedinNSW.

3. YoumustbeafinancialmemberofaclubwhichisaffiliatedwithoneoftheACMCmemberassociations(seeattachedlistbelow).TheClubmustalsobefinancialwiththeirACMCGroup.

YoumustcompleteSection2ofthe1835formprovidedbytheRMS(Linkbelow).Section3isfilledoutbytheACMC.Thisformmustbestamped(intheboxprovidedontheform)byyourprimaryclub.Bystampingthisformyourclubisattestingtothefactthatyou are a financial member of your primary club and therefore thevehicleiseligibleforregistrationundertheRMSCVSrules.

OnreceiptofthedocumentsbytheACMCNSWLtd,Section3ofthe1835formwillbecompletedandsignedbyarepresentativeoftheACMCNSWLtd(aspertheexampleonpage4ofthisdocument)Forthefirstregistration,acopy(nottheoriginal)oftheBlueSlipmustaccompanythe1835form.ForsubsequentrenewalsaPinkSlipisrequired.Thevehiclemustberegisteredwithin42daysfromthedateofissueoftheBlueSlip,otherwiseanewBlueSlipwillneedtobesought.

Theform,togetherwithacopyoftheBlueSlip,mustthenbepostedtoACMCNSWLtdatPOBox419BexleyNSW2207,(forfurtherverificationandastamp)withapaymentof$25processingfee.DonotpostanoriginalBlueSlip.Youmaypaytheadministrationfeebycheque,moneyorderorEFT.IfyouwishtotakeadvantageofEFTtopaytheadministrationfeepleaseensureyouadequatelyidentifywhothepaymentcomesfrom.Eitheramobilephonenumber,orsurnameandclubIDwouldbeideal.e.g.JonesTOCA.PleaseDONOTputcashintheenvelope.Itisagainstthelaw.(Seeattachedpageforbankingdetails).

5. Theformsmustbepostedbacktoyou(theRMSwantstoseethewholeformasanoriginal)andmustthenbetakentoanRMSorServiceNSWofficeforprocessing

ItisunderstoodthatapplicantswillcompletethelifecycleofcurrentregistrationpriortotransferringtoCVS.However,nowthattheinitialrushisoverthiscanbewaivedifneedsbe.

1. YourvehicleMUSTbe30yearsold,orolder.Replicas,iftheyareacceptabletoyourclub,MUSTalsobe30yearsoldorolder.Notacopyofa30yearoldcar,theactualreplicamusthavebeenbuiltover30yearsago.

2. IfthevehiclehasbeenmodifieditmustfitwithintheguidelinesofVSI-6(Linkbelow)orhaveanengineeringcertificatefromanRMSlicensedVSCCSEngineer.http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/roads/safety-rules/standards/vsi-06-light-vehicle-modifications.pdf

AblueslipMUSTbeobtainedforcertificationofthevehiclefortheinitialapplicationforCVS.Thisappliesregardlessofwhetherthevehicleiscurrentlyregisteredornot.OnsubsequentrenewalofyourCVSregistrationapinkslipissufficient.Thevehiclemustberegisteredwithin42daysfromthedateofissueoftheBlueSlip,otherwiseanewBlueSlipwillneedtobesought.

3. THEFORMS

Whentheformhasbeenreturnedtoyou:

1. Youmustfillinthe4-pageRMSApplicationforConditionalRegistration,form1246.(Linkbelow).http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/about/forms/45070939-conditional-reg.pdf

2. Possiblyaseparateform1021ChangeofRecordstoapplyforinclusioninthe60-daylogbooktrial.YourclubisautomaticallyincludedduetoitsaffiliationwithoneoftheACMCmemberassociations.(Linkbelow).Someofficesarenotrequiringthisandissuethelogbookautomatically.http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/about/forms/45070212-adjustment-of-records.pdf

3. Takethe1835&1021formsplustheApplicationforConditionalRegistration(form1246),andbluesliptoanRMSorServiceNSWofficeforprocessing.YouwillalsoneedtoproduceyourlicenceforID.

4. The1021formwillrequireyournewregistrationnumbernotedonitbeforetheRMScanprocessitandgiveyouyourlogbook.

5. Thecostofregistrationappearsbelow.Newnumberplatesaremandatory.Conditionalregistrationcannotuseordinarynumberplatesorpersonalisedplates.Thenewplatesshouldhave5numbersfollowedbya‘D’.Theyaregreennumbersandlettersonwhitebackground.

InthecaseofMotorcycleRegistrationtheplatewillbe4digitsfollowedbyan‘M’ora‘C’$22ConditionalRegistrationadministrationfee$26CTPinsurancepremium$44Numberplatefee(one-off)$92Total

Thesefiguresmaychangefromtimetotime.

6. Youshouldnotifyyourcomprehensiveinsurerofthenewregistrationdetailsorestablishaninsurancepolicyifyoudonotalreadyhaveoneforthevehicle.

7. Readyourclub’srulesandbylaws,tounderstandtheclubeventprocessfortripswhichdonotrequireanentryinthe60-daylogbook.

8. Alogbookentryisrequiredforallservicetripssuchastotheservicestationormechanic.
