Power System Maintenance Electrician
Responsible for inspecting, adjusting, maintaining, and servicing power transformers, reactors, and
circuit breakers (both SF6 and OCB), instrument and station service transformers, disconnect
switches, protective devices, static capacitors, circuit switches, and other high voltage equipment

Converter Technician
Supervised and performed testing, maintenance, and repair to a variety of simple to complex
electrical/electronic equipment systems including HVDC valves and controls, value cooling systems,
Communication/RTU systems and high voltage relay/protection devices. Supervised and performed
maintenance associated building support PLC systems and the high voltage switchyards at the
Virginia Smith converter station, call outs and emergency work. Duties include Supervising and

Supervised and performed HVDC system testing and maintenance consisting of Valves modules,
HVDC Controls, communications, protection, and fiber optic interface systems. HVDC controls

and service reports on substation and HVDC systems including test results, maintenance intervals,

While in a supervisory position I worked closely with associated crafts to adequately support and
maintain the reliable operations the VSCS DC Tie. This included completing cost estimation, ordering
parts, scheduling outages for testing, installing new equipment, planning necessary manpower,
switching, print updates, acceptance testing, RCM recorders Management and Maximo data entry
after work completion. I also undertook a 1 1/2 year record digitization initiative that provided easy
access to all test data and maintenance records for NERC/WECC compliance and maintained record
updates. I participated in annual maintenance reviews and provided input on interval changes as well
as updates to testing procedures and evaluation of new standards and compliance policies. I also
helped to mediate disputes and resolve conflicts between employees and provided them with
recommendations for improvement in performance.

coordination, preventive maintenance, and day to day operations. While in a supervisory position I
