Map of China Scavenger HuntUsing a map or globe, find the following locations and fill-in the answers.
1. Beijing is the capital of China and the second most populated city in China. Circle Beijing in red.
2. The most populated city is Shanghai and sits along the eastern coast. Draw ayellow rectangle around that city.
3. The longest river in China is the Yangtze and it empties into the East China Sea just north of Shanghai. Start a blue line to the left of the word ‘China’. Have it go south and then turn toward the east and continue to just above Shanghai. (Modification: Help your child find the correct locations, if needed.)
4. Write ‘Yangtze’ in blue above the river you just drew.5. Write ‘East China Sea’ in the water to the east of China where the river ends.6. The Great Wall is a series of walls built around the borders of China over
hundreds of years. A popular section to visit is just northeast of Beijing. Draw a small, red brick wall in this area.
7. Just to the east of Xian is an Emperor's Mausoleum that has at least 8000 clay soldiers in it. Draw a simple soldier in this area.
8. South of Guangzhou is the longest sea crossing bridge in the world. Draw a bridge in this area.
9. To the east of this bridge is Hong Kong, which is part of China, but has a separate government. Write ‘Hong Kong’ to the right of the bridge.
10. Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world, sits along the border to the southwest of Lhasa. Draw a mountain here.
11. The Gobi Desert is along the northern border of China. In yellow, write “Gobi Desert” to the left of Baotou.
