Who are we?The London Photo Festival was set up by Emma Mapp & Kit Shah, after they met on a ‘How To Exhibit Your Photography’ course in 2011.

Emma MappAn ex-lawyer and when faced with redundancy in 2009 and the prospect of diminishing roles, decided to make her passion for photography her new career. She set up Abitoffthemapp Photography and then in 2011 the Lon-don Photo Festival with Kit Shah. Has won and been a finalist for a number of photography competitions and was published in The Telegraph in 2011 and The Metro in 2012

Kit ShahHas been interested in photography since an early age, his biggest influence being his dad who was a fashion photographer in the 60’s. Kit studied photography and film at London College of Printing and went on to direct and produce many short films. One of his films was runner-up at the L.A. HD Film Festival and the film has been distributed world-wide. Kit also runs HCK Photog-raphy covering Actors publicity shots to film stills and events.

What do we do?We provide amateur and semi-professional photogra-phers the opportunity to exhibit their work, gain profes-sional feedback and to join a thriving community of photographers. We do not evaluate images: as long as they are non-offensive and/or legal, then we will exhibit them. This is what sets us apart from other festivals, exhibitions and galleries and we want to encourage amateurs to improve their photography by learning from their peers and experiencing exhibitions in an informal but professional environment. A few of our previous exhibitors have gone on to exhibit in galleries and obtain professional photography contracts as a result of exhibit-ing their work at the Festival.

We also want to make photographic art affordable and encourage people to buy unique, original art instead of ubiquitous works.

London Photo FestivalKhadijah Abdullah is based in London and graduated with a Diploma from the Photography Institute (online) in May 2012. Photography has been a hobby since 2007 and Khadijah is passionate about travel and landscape photography.

Born in Dresden in 1982 and is now living in London, where he’s finishing his computer science degree. Photography has become a major obsession that compels him to travel the world and take his camera wherever the road takes him.
