This is the first of two meetings between the Sabres and Flames this season.

Last meeting: Buffalo defeated Calgary 4-2 in Buffalo on Nov. 21, 2016

Next meeting: Wednesday, March 7 in Buffalo

The Sabres are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games vs. the Flames; 1-8-1 on the road.

This is the 106th game all-time between Buffalo and Calgary/Atlanta; Buffalo has a 51-36-18 series record.

The Sabres are 18-23-12 on the road against the Flames all-time.  THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY

The Sabres are 9-6-1 all-time on January 22.

January 22, 1988: Phil Housley records his second career hat trick in a 7-3 win over New Jersey. Housley still holds the Sabres’

franchise record for most career hat tricks by defenseman (2).

January 22, 1989: Lindy Ruff scores his 100th NHL goal in a 6-4 win at home against the Bruins.  THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Tonight’s game kicks off a three-game Pacific Division road trip for the Sabres. It continues tomorrow night at Edmonton and wraps

up on Thursday night in Vancouver.

After going 2-0-1 in their last three meetings, a win or overtime loss tonight would give the Sabres points in four straight games

against the Flames for the first time since they went 7-0-2 against Calgary from Feb. 18, 1997 to Nov. 23, 2001

The home team has won 18 of the last 20 games between these teams, dating back to the 1999-00 season. The Sabres’ last win in

Calgary was on Oct. 18, 2003.
