To avoid a step when changing colours, replace
the first two stitches of each new colour with
the following: for the first double crochet draw
up a loop in the old colour and finish by hooking
and pulling through the new colour. The next
stitch should be a slip stitch, replacing the second
double crochet of the pattern. This will give a
seamless transition from one colour to the next
