“The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program saved my life.

Without them, I might have never gotten a mammogram.”

Are you 50 - 64 years of age WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE?

Linda, 51

“Thanks to your caring, compassionate staff, I am doing well now. I would not

have had the money to pursue the medical care I needed and would not

have known where to turn.”

Elaine, 59

Testimonials

“The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program is the reason I

am alive today to write this letter. I had an exam and discovered a lump in my

breast. The referral from the program for an advanced mammogram and follow-up

care resulted in my early diagnosis.”

Marjorie, 56

GIVE YOURSELFPeace of Mind

• Mammograms can find breast cancer before it can be detected by breast exams.

• Many women do not have symptoms at the time breast cancer is detected.

• The chance of survival increases if cancer is found early.

• Detecting cervical cancer before it spreads is very easy with regular Pap smear tests.

WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE EXAMS?

Clinical Breast ExamA healthcare provider examines your breast

with the professional care you deserve.

MammogramAn X-ray picture of your breast that can show even the smallest changes that might need

attention.

Pelvic Exam A healthcare provider checks your cervix,

ovaries, and pelvic area for masses, growths, or other issues. A Pap smear may be

performed during a pelvic exam.

Pap SmearA procedure that involves a healthcare

provider using a swab to collect cells from your cervix to test for cervical cancer.
