REFERENCING
WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
When you use other people’s words you need to give them credit
If you don’t give them credit it is PLAGERISM
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When you use someone else’s words in your essays you need to show that they belong to someone else by putting quotation marks around them and referencing at the end.
EXAMPLE:
During World War II Jewish people experienced widespread discrimination. “If one’s parents were born Jewish, one was classified as a Jew,” (Dick, 2007, p.5).
AT THE ENDAt the end of your essay you need to have a bibliography.
This needs to list every book or website you used for research.
On this page, your list has to be in alphabetical order by the author’s last name.
