Frown lines between the eyebrows are caused by repetitive movement of the muscles above your eyebrows. Over time, this creases the skin and produces the wrinkles.

We usually use these muscles for frowning. This can be due to expression of anger, concentrating or even squinting in the sun.

Anti-wrinkle injections treat wrinkles caused by the contraction of facial muscles. These injections can be used to relax the muscles of the frown to prevent the appearance of a vertical frown line.

The effects of Anti-wrinkle injections are generally seen after 1-2 weeks. These results can last up to 4 months.

NOTE Anti-wrinkle injections do not immediately improve static lines, or lines that present a line. These can be treated by adding volume with dermal fillers.

Crows feet are the wrinkles around the eyes. They are many factors that contribute to crow’s feet including: sun exposure, squinting, smiling and general aging of the skin.

Anti-wrinkle injections are a great prevention to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles. This treatment is great for young patients who are just starting to get the fine lines around the eyes.

It is very important to understand these lines are controlled by the muscle around the eyes, however sometimes other facial muscles can compensate for these wrinkles.

Worry lines are horizontal lines that run across the forehead. These lines are caused by the folding of skin when the frontalis muscle contracts.

Prominent or scarred lines in this area can make some people look worried when they are not.

The treatment takes under 15 minutes and the results will last between 12-16 weeks.

A smile is considered a “gummy smile” if a significant amount of gingival tissue (gums) can be seen as a person smiles. Very few drops of product is required to treat this muscle.

Although a gummy smile is considered a normal variation of human anatomy, many people with gummy smiles are very self-conscious when smiling.

It normally takes up to 2 weeks for the results to show and the treatment can last up to 5 months.

As we age we lose our fat pads in the chin area. Dermal fillers can be used to replace these fat pads and add to a more youthful appearance.

Some clients also suffer from a ‘jowled’ look or indentions on either side of the chin known as the prejowl sulcus. Dermal fillers can correct these imperfections, simply by injecting into the areas of the chin to improve the shape and forward protrusion of the chin.

This type of treatment can have lasting results from 6-18 months, depending on the density of the filler used.

The hollow ‘valley’ that forms between the lower eyelid and the face is called the tear trough. This slopes from the inner corner of the eye down towards the cheek hollow.

Some people are born with deep eye sockets, thus giving the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, which gives you a ‘tired’ look.

Dermal fillers is an ideal treatment for the tear trough area. They can gently inflate the area under the eye to either soften the hollowing and/or lessen the darkness by thickening up the layers between the underlying muscle and the thin skin overlying the muscle.
