• Eagles have strong wings that help them soar up to 10,000 feet high and fly up to 30 miles per hour.

• They can also dive up to 100 miles per hour. (ZOOM!)

• Eagle’s nests can reach to 8 feet wide and 13 feet deep.

• The name “Bald Eagle” comes from an older meaning of the word, “white headed.”

• They have over 7,000 feathers!

• The bald eagle’s range covers most of North America, including most of Canada, all of the continental United States, and northern Mexico.

• The further from the equator the larger the bald eagle. Bald eagles found in Alaska are the largest.
