CONTROLLED PERMEABILITYThe focus of this system explains the ability to see through balconies from street view. One side appears more transparent than the other to allow more air circulation. The balcony on the other half is fully covered with solid parapet walls; this leaves the residents with more privacy to hide personal belongings from view. The two design provides the occupants with the flexibility to use the balcony according to their needs. The diagram above illustrates this relation by projecting the visibility of (A) over a barrier.

LOUVRED PERGOLA
Following the system of controlling the permeability, the pergola design organ-ises the function of its space in correspondence to the level of exposure of the shutters. The shutter on one side is fully enclosed to provide rain protection and privacy, whereas the area receives more exposure when the shutters are fully rotated 90 degrees.
